We would’ve been in a much better place if Gruden didn’t have dibs on first round picks when he was here tbh
At least by the time he’s fired we wouldn’t be stuck with a bunch of busts

Gruden should have kept Reggie IMO. Picking a television analyst to be GM was arrogant as fukk.

Reggie could pick and identify football talent, but no non-retread coach would come to Oakland during the transition to Vegas. So a lot of that talent was wasted by mediocre coaching.

Gruden is a good football coach, who is a horrible talent evaluator. He squandered the Mack and Cooper return and wasted picks on Antonio Brown.

Problem is that Mark likes his new toys and throws them away when they aren't working the way they are supposed too.

I'm not seeing anything with McDaniels that will show any improvement over time. He seems like a micro managing prick and that will stick with his way not matter what.

For all the credit we don't give Reggie for not landing star talent in FA... he did draft Cooper,Carr and Mack and oversaw them finally having a winning season....and got rid of a lot of high dollar underperforming players... he should've never fired Hue though.

We really don't acknowledge that it's not like Madden, and that type of turnover plus drafting+ development doesn't happen overnight.

Reggie inherited a team in 2012 that had traded two firsts and a second for Carson Palmer and was hamstrung by years of win-now cap management. Reggie's first draft pick was a supplemental 3rd round pick :stopitslime:.

:mjlol:Point still remains.

:mjlol:Trading them would make the roster even worse. We have plenty of young players on the team already-- they're all trash. If anything you're proving the point that we should keep them. 26 years old is young talent.

:mjlol:That's exactly what it means. This new regime has yet to draft a single player that's average. There's no evidence to suggest they will do anything with the picks. They traded Waller for a 3rd and did nothing with that pick.

:mjlol:You're suggesting a strategy that doesn't work. We know that, because Gruden already did it and we are still suffering for it. We did nothing with those picks we got in exchange for Amari Cooper and Khalil Mack. If we had kept them both, we would be 3-1 at worst at this point.

:mjlol:We aren't going to do shyt with those picks. All the evidence supports what I'm saying, and none of what you're saying.
1.)Yeah the point still reminds the roster is a dumpster fire and you need to rebuild. He’s the best asset to trade start this process. I think you can get 2 first round picks for him

2.)Yeah that’s what happens when you blow it up, you get worse temporarily and get the most valuable thing in the nfl, young cheap talent. You have young trash talent picked by horrible GM’s

3.)So Get a new regime and at the end of the year, new HC and New GM. A top 5 pick and the additional picks you’ll have from blowing it up will make them an extremely attractive job.

4.) Gruden blew the draft picks on horrible players, that’s why it didn’t work, if he picked the right players the raiders would be loaded right now. Trading Mack and Cooper was 100% the right move

:mjlol:Why do you think he's worth two first round picks? Because Max Crosby is more valuable than two first round picks. Use your brain.

:mjlol:Exactly. Again, you're conceded my point that it's a dumb idea. If every team picked the right players they would ALL be loaded, that's not how shyt works. You have a less than 1% chance of finding a beast in the draft, that's why you don't get rid of them (Cooper, Mack, Maxx) when you have them. You're wrong about Gruden too. It was absolutely the wrong move and set the team back in a way we still haven't recovered from. You have no idea what your talking about.
