To be fair they kinda telegraphed that earlier in the season when she started yelling at the picture of Mama Mabel.

Went back and watched a couple scenes yesterday, Cottonmouth & Misty killed their roles.

I know, which shows even more why they should've kept Cottonmouth. She would be crazier as the show went on, Diamondback is a sociopath, but Cottonmouth should've been the balance. Now I love camp, and a superhero show that doesn't take itself too serious all of the time, but they went from Batman ('89) to Batman Forever.

Hopefully for season 2, they clean it up.

I know, which shows even more why they should've kept Cottonmouth. She would be crazier as the show went on, Diamondback is a sociopath, but Cottonmouth should've been the balance. Luke Cage vs ordinary crime bosses doesn't work. The character isn't like Daredevil or Punisher. Luke Cage not only has super strength but is also invulnerable. You need characters like Diamondback and wacky concepts for there to be a threat and to pose a challenge. They had to write Cage as self-doubting/reluctant and include a flashback ep and another where he's temporarily putting aside conflict just to keep the Cottonmouth conflict going. As Cage has the powerset to end if after one if he wanted to.

I finished it. I liked it but it was kinda elementary with the writing and formulaic with the plot. There was nothing really surprising about it. It's better than Jessica Jones and Daredevil though. And damn Claire must have a thing for men with super powers lol

You're missing my point, Cage is so overpowered to the point that putting the character up against ordinary people doesn't work. He needs a supervillain enemy like Diamondback or Kilgrave.
