Why does an older mentorish Black man have to die in all these shows?
This mu fukka.
I've been vocal on how I feel about TFR's reviews and how I don't care for them the majority of the time. This show is one where I can agree with the majority.
This show is a recycle of Arrow season 1 with a slightly rehashed story involving the Hand with a mediocre main character who has shytty fighting skills portrayed as godly.
There's nothing interesting about this show.
Go mingle with your fellow stan boys.
I actually like that character and his arc so farI'm 3 episodes in and this is hot gahbage so far. This cat Danny is supposed to be the good guy but he's a complete idiot. He's not smart, not slick, not savvy, not funny, not anything. He's a completely boring character that doesn't really seem to have any qualities other than being mad naive. Plus the 'bad guy' is basically a spoiled rich kid businessman. And he's not at all interesting either
You stupid bytch how can I be a Stan just by saying some of you nikkas sheep? You stupid nikkas don't even make sense. Also stupid most shows are a recycle of another smfh.
I just found out that Iron Fist show runner is the dude that the last two seasons of Dexter. pretty much explains the shytty pacing.
After what happened to Eric la salle in Logan looks like it's a marvel entertainment trope, considering how popular the CB genre is what a dangerous precedent. Its like a repudiation of BLMI'm on episode 10 now. I'll drop more detailed thoughts later but all I wanted to say is....
If you get a role as an older black man in one of these Marvel NETFLIX series then don't make plans to make it into Season 2.
Ben in DareDevil
Detective Clemons In Jessica Jones
'Pops' in Luke Cage
And now Wilkins in Iron Fist
The darker tone is fine (if anything Iron fist felt light) the problem is the writingFinished it, I would put it on the same level as Jessica Jones. Gao, Harold and Ward Meachum were the best characters.
They need to cut down the episode runtime, They don't all have to be 50-55 minutes plus.
These Netflix shows being the "darker alternative" is now starting to hurt the main characters of these shows. They all just come across as mopey and whiny emos. They're too constrained which in turn makes them bland and boring. That's why the villains who are more charismatic and theatrical are better to watch. It's hurt Luke Cage and Danny Rand the most as they're meant to have personality instead here they just sulk and whine.
