I see Jones point but looking at this from the UFC’s end, what happens if they make the fight, guarantee Jones the money he wants and he fukks up again? This by all expectations will be a massive fight and we’ve seen what that extra pressure does to Jon.

The UFC did this to themselves, though. For weeks, they promoted the fight saying that the winner gets Jon Jones. Including words straight from Dana White's mouth. Then 2 minutes after Francis' KO, you hear Joe Rogan talking about a Derrick Lewis fight

It really feels like they expected Stipe to win, then called an audible. You can promote a Stipe fight too, but it's not going to draw the money that a Francis fight would, so they were probably banking on that.

I'm glad that Francis has been refuting Dana's talking points in interviews and saying that he knows Jon Jones isn't scared of him and that he wants the fight. I'd rather both him and Jon speak the truth and get paid, as opposed to Francis just becoming a company guy, which he easily could.

It's completely unnecessary. I get promoters playing hardball all day, but dude really has a crazy ego and is emotional. And he does it all the time. After Nunes backed out of a fight a few years back, he immediately got emotional and said he'll never main event a women's fight again. And it doesn't help the fight build. You’re right they backed themselves into this corner, I think it’ll get resolved. We’ll see it happen mid-Summer or early Fall.

Now with bones jones, the timing is all wrong. He literally started talking about pay after the ngannou fight with stipe.i know he aired out his grievance the first time last year, just seems weird that hes training and talking up a potential bout with either stipe/ngannou then its back to pay dispute

And he really doesnt have leverage, ufc will just book derrick lewis for a fraction of the price if he prices himself out
