I'd pay to see it, Whittaker certainly has a better chance than Smith and Santos
Max vs Frankie is pretty much next. I think max spends a year or two at 145(becoming the consensus ATG at 145) then comes back up to 155by the time he is 30. But I’m pretty sure he will bulk up now realizing he will need a bit more power. Dude even in defeat is a class act and just a cool ass dude. Even donated his fight gloves to Dustin’s charity. I think after the Ortega fight he gained a massive amount of fans and even in defeat with Dustin he really didn’t lose anything since he was coming up and still kept his 145 belt.
If Volk beats Aldo next month he's getting that shot over Frankie if Max decides to defend his belt again.
After getting beat the way he did max will put going up off for a while. He knows he has a great thing at 145. And max isn’t just gonna give up the belt. Yeah Forgot about that fight. Volk might not win though then that will set up Frankie vs max. Either way there’s starting to be options for max like if Zabit wins 1-2 more and if Ortega strings some wins together.
Does he have a great thing going? His lack of punching power is a issue period. After Edgar there wont be anymore old guys for him to retire. What happens when he fights another young contender like Ortega but this time not a striking novice?
The money fights are at 155, he's gonna end up losing his belt to a no name like Zabit before he ever even makes a 700k payday
I would take the Edgar fight and then just full strength and conditioning for a permanent move to 155
