Both dudes just happen to see avenues to fighting Conor and made their statements right as his value could either take a jump or drop off (with a bodybag loss to PBF or with a ban). That's my guess.

Lol I serious doubt anyone thinks conor will ever fight for the Ww title with Woodley as it's champ. And unless aldo moves to LW I don't see how he can realistically expect a rematch lol
If John McCarthy Mr stickler for rules is basically saying technically there is not a lot a commission can do given it was Ireland (where there is no commission) and he wasn't there as a licensed cornerman. So they are essentially looking at it as a rabid fan jumping the cage and causing a madness

Consider how crazy the idea of May/Mac was even while they were having rumored to be talking. We're not even 6 months removed from Conor sizing up Woodley before a weigh-in and talking about fighting him. Between Conor and Kavanaugh, Woodley and Aldo have both been name dropped in recent history along with Max Holloway who Aldo stands a chance to knock off next. If GSP or Nate Diaz were the WW champ, it'd be instant discussion of whether Conor chases that third belt and the ratings that come with the fight so it's not like Conor jumping to 170 for a title fight (then dip back to 155) is out of the question. Is it likely he fights either? Nah, but they'd be stupid to diminish him or push for suspensions when their names are on the short list.

I like that you are steadfast in this belief but for argument sake what incentive is there for McGregor to take a rematch with aldo? Even before his ego shot through the roof (by what he made against MMW) it was an open and shut case. What does he gain by going to that well

He will NEVER fight Aldo again. Like you said no incentive. Not even of Aldo moved up to 155. Not even in the latter years of his career for a retirement fight or something like that. He's not gonna give him the chance to avenge a 13 second KO loss.
