Can any of you tell me how "ground and pound" can be legal in MMA?
I mean elbows dangerous too but that's borderline but ground and pound? It mostly consists of bashing a knocked down man's skull to the canvas so the back of his head bounces on the canvas and receives repeated blows. Isn't that like the surefire way to get killed in the ring? I still doN't hear about occasions it costed a life why is that...? Simply luck and it's an accident waiting to happen or the canvas is so flexible that it totally absorb the energy of the punch or something...?

Thats actually less dangerous than being conscious and taking constant punishment but not being knocked out. Plus the canvas is a little bit soft/padded so it's different than when you see people on the street punching someone's skull into the hard concrete pavement. There's a little give.

Also ground and pound just means punching someone on the grind. It doesn't just refer to punching a knocked out opponent. :russ:

PVZ catches a lot of flack for being an average fighter that got way too big a push early, but I hate that this injury is letting the hate train keep riding on her. She KO'ed Bec and smoked Felice Herrig, but it feels like fans give those two credit and completely bash PVZ whose young enough to figure some things out and become a problem.

She got stuff down our throats because of her looks not her wins. :manny:

She woulda been fine if they didn't rush her up the ranks though. She finished 3 of her four wins only lost to Michelle Waterson and Rose Namajunas while she's still 23 years old. They forcefed her to the fans too soon, but she routinely gets lumped in with Sage who isn't even UFC caliber. I'm more down on Alexa Grosso tbh. Not saying we need to be hyping her up, but she should be looked at like a high draft pick. She's far from a finished product and has actually shown some developments with the kicks she's been working on (ish looks a bit awkward but in a shallow division she could afford to experiment). I just get bothered at how much flack she gets while people like Felice Herrig threw herself a pity party blaming her looks for lack of promotion without any sense of irony when Paige knocked her off clearly. I got a lot of hate for the bullies from TUF, can't front.

I hear what you're saying but I'm not checking for her and I'll take a Herring rematch.

These days if it's not one thing it's another but she's still all over social media. She's not a real fighter fuk her

Paige and Felice can get it.
