Fans and media kept complaining that there was a PED problem in MMA to the point of implicating zuffa has being complicit (in being aloof about it). They were obviously thinking about the sale or maybe it was the numerous lawsuits either way the criticism plus either or both of these factors made them get into bed with USADA. And since then not only have we lost the TRT guys but a slew of fighters have bolted to bellator (in part because of sponsors but also) because drug testing isn't as stringent.

So many revered dudes like Anderson and lyoto getting humiliated. Has it made the sport better? Are fights more fun? Has it led to less injuries? From a fans pov there is absolutely no value to it. My sport is clean whooopty doooooo

It's so sad to see. UFC probably wouldn't have gotten off the ground in the first place during TUF 1 since Couture, Liddell and Matt Hughes (at least one of them) would have popped.

That's even worse, what a fukking idiot. Losing to Cormier would be a setback for 7 months at worst, this has completely killed his career and credibility.

Apparently someone is saying they believe he's being set up. He was clean the whole training camp and all of a sudden he takes this night of weigh ins... knowing a steroid won't help you immediately it takes time... way more then a day.

Jon Jones: UFC was 'very well aware' Vitor Belfort was on steroids when I fought him
"I remember at the weigh-ins, I looked at his abs and I'm like, dude, I'm like several years younger than you and you look way tighter than me," Jones said. "And I knew I trained pretty hard for that camp. Everybody has always speculated Vitor for being on steroids. But to know they put me in there with him knowing he was on them, it's really a slap in the face."

"Vitor Belfort was on steroids when I fought him," Jones said. "The UFC was very well aware way before the fight. They did nothing to penalize him. They let the fight go on knowing that I was fighting a guy on steroids, which is a hazard to my life."

Jones, who was suspended and stripped of his UFC light heavyweight title in April after a felony hit-and-run arrest, said he has not spoken to executives about the situation.

"I haven't brought it up to them yet," Jones said. "But the fans know. It all gets back to what I was saying about power of the UFC and this athletic commission. Eventually something needs to be done about it.

"I will bring it up eventually. I'm just interested to hear their explanation."

"They let Vitor fight on steroids against me," Jones said.

Jon is like those guys that claim to hate gays, but get caught getting their back blown out in some public restroom :mjlol:

Jon Jones' teammate: Failed drug test is 'straight set up' that 'makes no sense'

The news of Jon Jones' latest failed drug test made its way through the fighting world on Tuesday, and fans all over the landscape expressed their disappointment in the UFC light heavyweight champion.

But Jones' teammate, Frank Lester, a coach at Jackson-Wink Academy where Jones trains, is urging everyone to hold off on judgement. In a Facebook post, Lester claims that he was with Jones when he heard the news and that Jones' positive test result is a "straight set up."

"This is a set up, straight up, no athlete would test clean his entire fight camp, and then randomly take some cheap f---ing oral steroid betweens (sic) weigh ins and fight night knowing he would be tested once he got done fighting," Lester wrote. "This is a straight set up. They are trying to ruin this kids (sic) life. It makes no sense and Jon wouldn't do it."

Jones, less than one month removed from a dominant third-round TKO of Daniel Cormier to regain his title, tested positive for a banned substance stemming from an in-competition sample collected immediately following the UFC 214 weigh-in on July 28. Just over a month ago, Jones completed a one-year USADA suspension, which he received after testing positive for banned substances clomiphene and letrozol. That positive test resulted in him being pulled from the UFC 200 main event last July.

UFC president Dana White denied reports that Jones had immediately been stripped of his belt but did say that he would prefer to hand the title back to Cormier than create an interim title.

The fact that he failed between weigh ins is just bizarre. There's no room to be all that skeptical when Jones has had so many issues (and rumors like the hiding under the cage story even before he failed the first time) but it takes a special level of reckless stupidity to get caught that late in the process. After hearing about this, that closing devastating sequence just looks terrible (like Hunt/Lesnar).

WTF do we do with the GOAT list now? Half my favorite guys have an asterisk next to their names.

Ps what a sociopath though knowing the whole time he was juiced yet he was acting like a reformed statesman

IMO he's always given off traits of a sociopath as well as narcissistic personality disorder.

The way he was making it seem like he was the victim when he hit that pregnant lady with his car? A lot of his behavior on the Rogan podcast was strange.

This is 100% gossip and feel free to not attach any weight to it, but I have trained at MMA gyms for over a decade, and I've heard a handful of stories about Jones of him being...I would say 'cruel to other people' is probably the best word. Take that for what it's worth. I'm a total stranger on the internet, but I've heard some fukked up stories about the dude from people that I trust that have trained with him.
