Kosher and JimmyV go into detail about how shows on tv need to better depict the current culture and diversity in America. JimmyV believes that the show Shots Fired on Fox will reopen the conversation for police officers and the public interactions they have had with minorities where death was involved. He thinks it is a bold show by Fox to talk about the current state of America. Kosher goes in on Lavar Ball and asks JimmyV if he would want a parent that parades the family like Lavar is doing. Is this a positive for a negative to have such a confident parent in the public's eye. Feedback is appreciated brehs and subscribe to us on iTunes and SoundCloud if you like the content. Watched last nights fights and Joe Duffy wasn't as impressive as people made it sound. Out worked a very basic fighter who's pushing 40.

Not sold on Manuwa either, Anderson looked scared from the very start :yeshrug:

I think Corey coming to the UFC after 4 pro fights really fukked up his development. I don't think he would have ever been elite, just less disappointing.
Manuwa has a chance against anybody, except DC. DC would just ragdoll him.

:wow: dude just stopped following those porn twitter accounts, he's getting his mind right for that title run

It would be insane if he became big time in China, I don't see MMA getting big in China without someone having a Yao Ming-type impact on the sport. I watched a Kunlun Fight show this morning and people in the audience were laughing whenever fights got to the ground...
porn twitter accounts :mjlol: no shame.
I'm not sure if he has the skills to back it up tho, last time I saw him he was aight

due to Chinese folks' reluctance to attack while on the ground, the preference to see striking, etc I think it's gonna be difficult to break real ground in the market. there needs to be a giant fukking push by celebs and social media if people are gonna stop trash talking grappling. my co-worker the other day who swears by wing chun got so mad at me explaining that on the ground he'd get choked he literally tried to sqaure up:stopitslime:
so I just got him in a body lock and threw him off balance for a bit:ehh:
then he said in real life I would've countered that and thrown strikes:stopitslime:
I should've pulled guard and submitted him (my meager few mma classes would've been enough to humiliate him:lolbron:)

It's gonna take some time before people really get it. Especially since 99% of the population grew up watching traditional martial arts glorified on screen

The Chinese government is backing a ton of kickboxing organizations too. When the UFC started getting more mainstream with Ronda and Conor, kickboxing started airing on the biggest TV stations in Mainland China during primetime (this is including CCTV). And you know nothing gets on mainland Chinese tv without government approval:jbhmm:

Yeah man the romanticism of Chinese kung fu is crazy. When you got crazy films like Ip Man, Crouching Tiger, etc etc basically strictly doing stand up, they don't wanna see two sweaty brolic dudes grappling on the ground. It's just a shame how long it's gonna take. When it does though.. we're gonna see a takeover :blessed:

I'm glad kickboxing events are gaining traction :banderas: we need more and more and more and more of that shyt
we need entire platoons of strikers putting on events. then big dogs will come to train and increase the overall competitiveness and then before you know it china will become kickboxing mecca like the netherlands :banderas:

if it really happens :blackplatomayne:.. it's be glorious breh.

i need to start watching more sanda

My issue with Duffy is I haven't seen much development. He was good, but he's always been good and he's never had a fight that looks like he's turned the corner to be ready for top tier. I do love watching him strike though.

Same boat with Manuwa from me too. Beating OSP and Anderson doesn't make me confident he can bounce back against Rumble or Gustaffson...that said, it's not bad timing for him to get that KO win. Since Gus and Glover are booked and Rumble vs Cormier is about to go down, he might get that title shot which I don't see him winning at all. Anderson was frustrating in the way a lot of guys with good wrestling pedigrees are for me; just learn how to use striking to set up your takedowns and you can be a tough out for anybody...instead dude was on his bike right up until he circled into a fist.
