nunes has shown some discipline in her last few fights since that loss to cat. she's not coming put guns blazing like that anymore. her last 3 fights, outside of svenchenko she fought mccann and tate who are both known for they grappling. nunes avoided the clinch/scrambles, circled them and picked her shots perfectly then went in (pressured) when she smelled blood and put them bytches to sleep. she's not as reckless like she used to be but that gas tank :jbhmm:.

ronda can win but the psychological aspect of this sport is a motherfukka. she got ko'd, embarrassed in front of millions. to come back on a big stage, be the same fighter you were before you got ko'd and take on someone who's been red hot and at the top of they game, is tough. that aura she once had is gone, i can't see her beating nunes at the moment.
I agree with the psychological aspect...
However, I just finished re-watching Nunes vs Zingano, and noticed that
(1) Nunes isn't a technical striker when she is under pressure...She tee'd off on Miesha Tate because Miesha gave her space and time...
(2) Nunes is NOT that much stronger than the other women...Zingano rag dolled her in the clinch and on the ground...Doing all types if fancy takedown flips...Miesha was able to take her down, and Miesha is WEAK...
(3) Nunes' BJJ isn't all that...She was NO THREAT to Zingano from the top or bottom...
(3) Nunes gases and quits...

I also think Ronda will be faster than her...

If Ronda fights the way she has always been fighting i.e. super aggressive, first to the punch, judo flips, arm bar...She has a pretty good chance...Take the potential psychological barrier, Ronda should be favorite to win this one...

If Ronda fights the way she has always been fighting i.e. super aggressive,
that's before she faced a good striker and got her shyt pushed in.

My bet is that we will see the scars from that KO against Nunes and Ronda will start off gun shy and get pressured by Nunes until she gets KO'D or loses a unanimous.
Doo Ho Choi vs Cub Swanson official for 206

I just hope Karate Hottie is able to stay healthy to make it to the PVZ fight

Glad with Ronda coming back, all the speculation talk about her return can end now. Now it's just a matter of seeing her she looks in the fight.

I like that Cub Swanson/Doo Ho Choi fight a lot :ehh:

Also glad this is the rare week, without any major fights. Anticipation is a good thing.

The difference between Holm and Nunes is that Holm is Winklejohn "point fighter"...Nunes ain't trying to beat you on the score cards, she wants to dominate...And that's the type of fighter Ronda has a better chance against...

Nunes isn't crisp with her shots when she is under pressure...Re-watch her fights and you will see...If you pressure Nunes, she will brawl, and that's where Ron DaRousey has been dominant...

I saw this on on the MMA sub. I'm worried brehs :lupe:

Dave Meltzer: Joe Silva and Dave Sholler are the big names to go so far, but they won't be the last. WME-IMG want to bring in their own people. I've been told that by January it will be a very, very different company.

A lot of people behind the scenes are worried about their future or looking elsewhere.

So many people are going to be gone and I hope they have some people around who know the fight business. Joe Silva was one of them and he's not there any more.

This is just the nature of a big sale. It happens when any company gets sold.

They're going to continue to make "money fights" because that's what the new owners want. The UFC has no choice now (...) Fighters like Aldo and Pena need to understand that's how it is, and if anything it's going to get worse for them (...) Pena is crying about not getting a title shot, but she wouldn't even have a job if it wasn't for Rousey"
