Damn...I was watching TMZ Sports on FS1 Thursday night and they were interviewing CM Punk. They were asking him about his weight cut and he said he really hadn't eaten anything in 3 days( :damn:).....they then ask him what is his walk around weight.....Punk says "about 220." :leon:

Punk doesn't look 220...he barely looked about that much when he was a wrestler. And Gall looks bigger than him. I think dude is bullsh!tting but....a guy in his 30's cooking himself down 50 lbs. in order to fight little guys at welter :scust:

nikkas be having a field day about Conor's cut and this nikka out here HW status fighting at welterweight smh

Just vacate the 145 belt and fight Eddie for 155 title. Aldo/Holloway for the 145 title on the same card would be dope.

Easy for you to say that but you get paid more fighting as a champion. If he relinquishes the belt, I doubt Connor makes as much in that fight as he did in both fights against Nate. and Alvarez is a potentially more dangerous fight than Nate. Easy to understand why Connor doesn't wanna let go of the strap, even though its not fair.

Win or lose, what should UFC do with Punk after 203?

If he wins, they gotta find another guy with only 0 - 4 fights? :what:UFC gonna try to feed all the young WW prospects to this guy? :ohhh:

They gonna give this dude so many cans....and he's not young....how can he feasibly ever be given a title shot? Or even a fight with a top flight fighter?

A lot of us were b!tching b/c Weidman got a title shot after 9 fights...but Punk is, best case scenario, 3.5 - 4 years away from that many fights....and we all see how brittle he is.

Now that I think about it...I think it's best Mickey destroys CM tomorrow...for the greater good of the sport. :yeshrug: Make Mickey a name in the sport....then move him along in a somewhat deliberate fashion.

I doubt he takes a Cerrone fight. By his own words, he's only looking for big paydays.

realistically, what big payday is he gonna get other than nate/conor 3 though? let's be honest, the casuals (who are the ones driving the big ppv numbers and thus, the fat fighter checks) don't really care about diaz outside of that context. you would need another top draw name to fight nate...and i don't see anything out there for him that could have him headlining a major card, commanding huge money.

Mickey is a cocky dude. You think if he wins tomorrow he's gonna settle for fighting on prelims?

He'll have SOME leverage...but not much. He ain't getting Woodley no time soon....I'll put it like that.

Some FS1 main events...some prelim featured fights....some co-mains on FOX maybe...the 1st or 2nd match on a pay per view...they're gonna give him top 20 - 25 guys for a while. That's better than what Punk is anyway.

Punk-Mickey ain't even the co-main tonight....Mickey ain't got no stroke, for real.

If he can go 4 or 5 in a row looking good out there...they can give him a top 10 breh...but that's 2 or 3 years down the line.

And speaking of welterweight, it's one of the deepest, most exciting weigthclasses there is...Lawler-Donald was THE fight, for sure....but there's dozens of fun match ups for Cerrone @ MSG.:

Condit, Ni. Diaz(co-main in NY with a nice check might compel him to play ball), Matt Brown, Tim Means, Larkin, Wonderboy(fighting in NY for a good paycheck against a striker might get him off his ass), etc. I'm thinking Condit would do it b/c he's not beat up, Cerrone can't do him like Maia did, it's NY, it'll be a good paycheck and Condit arguably beat Lawler...

Damn! I got myself hype for some Cerrone-Condit :wow:.....do it, Dana.
