Bernie Profato, Executive Director of the Ohio Athletic Commission, explained to MMA Fighting on Tuesday the reasoning behind granting Brooks a license despite no fighting background, which rests on two separate grounds.

"CM Punk has a wrestling background similar to Brock Lesner being permitted to fight in the past," Profato said.

Ohio commission explains licensing of CM Punk
And these are the regulators for the sport? You just have to do a quick Wikipedia to know there is no record of that or are they literally trying to make out wwe is "wrestling"

Weidman-Yoel is 50-50....does this mean Luke-Jacare II @ 205 also???

Conor, Ronda and Jones won't be ready for 205....they just gotta focus on local fighters and finishers. Buyrate won't be crazy but if they can stack the card with exciting match-ups with personalities...they could have that 199 type of vibe...they could do 500k

Lawler-Cerrone, Holloway-Pettis-Aldo, Weidman-Yoel, 'Shad-Kennedy, Frankie dropping down to bantamweight, etc. are all worthy of this event.

Only main event that could do it justice is Cormier-Johnson II....George wants to fight a month later...and that's probably against Woodley. Reem and Stipe probably won't be ready. I'm thinking Punk loses this weekend so he won't be main event worthy. I think Rumble garnered enough interest/belief in a rematch.

Rumble-DC
Aldo-Holloway-Pettis(preferrably Holloway-Pettis)
Weidman-Romero
Lawler-Cerrone
Frankie BW debut

Prelim main event
Suga vs. Kennedy

Then you gotta book Bermudez....gotta book some females...it'll be something for everybody.

I'm copping this and the Andre Ward in back to back weeks...my pockets won't be worth a damn. :to:

If Aldo fights again he's the legit champ. So Conor gotta vacate the belt

Iaquinta is an exciting new York fighter. :obama:

Aljamain's from NY, too? BOOK HIM!!!!!

They need to LOAD this card with tri-state brehs.

I actually favor Iaquinta in hat fight, on some 55/45% type vibe...

And Conor won't be able to fight until about March....I'm a stan for him, at times, but you shouldn't be able to hold a belt for 15 months without a title defense while you were competing against other guys....might as well strip him @. If Pettis is ready by mid-November(doubt it)...have him and Holloway match up @ 205...winner gets Aldo Superbowl weekend.

Why does Punk want to get his ass kicked so badly. I don't even understand how he can be a grown man yet he fights like he's never heard of the activity.

I expect him to be seriously hurt and to never fight again.
