Sure enough, the ref discusses things with the judge, and they call it a no-contest.
Garbrandt and his family lost their gotdamn minds. They're yelling all types of cuss words and threats at the ref. Then the biggest dude in their group (at least 6'8 and 350lbs) gets up and tries to grab one of the judges.
Garbrandt also lost his mind and he had to be restrained by security for a while. Then he stormed into the locker room and my brother said he was back there calling bullshyt, but I texted him like "nah, his cousin should have been flat out disqualified." We wrestled his team in high school and he was a bit of a hot head back then, so I can't be too surprised about what happened.
Security settled things down after a few minutes of chaos, and the fight promoter gets in the ring talking about "please respect the judges and remain calm" and I was like, man this dude needs to get some bass in his voice!
Then, I hear a commotion behind me and I think to myself "please tell me that my teammates are not getting into a crowd fight right now!" Of course, this is the group you want to be with if a fight breaks out, but I wasn't trying to get involved in that.
Anyway, I turn around and some random dude had fainted.
He literally passed out and his limp body fell into where my teammates were standing. My teammates are trying to pull the dude to his feet (remember, they're drinking) and I had to step in like "let him lay there, he ain't moving!" We call over the EMTs and they revive him and get him hooked up with some fluids.
Ok, so after that shyt with the fainting guy, we get back to the action. My brother’s fight was about to start, so I’ll give you some background on how his opponent even got here. I mentioned it a while back but my brother had a few scheduled fight that ended up being cancelled at the last minute, and two of them were scheduled with this guy.
So, about an hour before the fights started last week, they couldn’t find my brother’s opponent and it started looking like he was about to bail again. My dad was a little heated when I told him. “This muhfukka done backed out twice already, he about to do it again?!”
I had to be like
"calm down pops. He already weighed in so he will show up.”
I was right and the dude showed up, but he would have been better off bailing again. My brother gave him that work. He is just too damn fast and strong for people his size to handle. The thing is, this opponent was fast as hell too and it felt like he almost caught my brother with a few shots that had me in the crowd nervous. My brother controlled the first round and landed several solid punches, and he ended it in the second with a TKO after he let the fists fly in the ground/pound.
I asked my brother after the fight if he felt like the dude was fast and he hit me with the
. He said he saw all the dude’s punches/kicks coming and he was not about to get caught slipping. That excellence.
