JDS was injured going into that fight. Hopefully, that's the reason why he didn't look up to par.

He was, but he didn't have that fire in his eyes either I felt. Not to sound like Mike Goldberg but still.

I'm worried those Cain fights took something from him, even with that I still hate this fight as an Overeem fan because Overeem can't withstand those combos esp because JDS can hit him from long range :lupe:

I agree. No matter what shape JDS shows up in, he's always going to be a very tough match-up for Overeem.

Not talking about Wins, but has Overeem gotten better, stayed the same or worsened since he joined the UFC? I remember he was struggling with Werdum's striking. I couldn't believe what I was watching. I think a confident JDS will do well. Just don't give Overeem a chance to get confident. He doesn't want those Uberknee problems. I'd be rooting for Alistair though. Pride, mixes striking, OG reasons.

He's looked worse since joining the UFC, but he's also faced better competition. Since getting caught with PEDs, he hasn't looked that impressive.

Werdum wasn't willing to engage in that fight and was flopping around. It takes two to tango and Werdum wasn't willing to participate (from what I remember).

I remember the hype surrounding Overeem when he came into the UFC riding a 10-fight win-streak and then demolishing Brock. Then he fails his drug test and hasn't looked the same since.

If he can avoid big shots and try clinching JDS against the cage he could tire him out. That's a big fukkin IF tho :lolbron:

I haven't watched him outside of UFC but since he's been there he's gotten better recently after a bad start. credit to jackson's camp. problem is he's hella chinny. He's been mitigating it with improved technique but you just get the feeling that you can't trust him as much more than a gatekeeper at HW.
