The Ultimate Fighting Championship has released the details of their new Uniform policy, which goes into effect this July.

Check it: (Via The Bleacher Report)

1. Ranked fighters will get to pick their color scheme first, with the higher ranked fighter getting first selection if he/she faces another ranked opponent. Same colors can not be used. Unranked fighters will work with matchmakers to select colors.

2. Each fighter and their cornermen will be issued official Reebok gear upon arrival of host city. Product will include a gym bag, hoodie, T-shirt, workout shorts, weigh-in shorts, weigh-in walkout sweatpants, weigh-in T-shirt, weigh-in walkout hoodie, weigh-in hat, underwear, socks and shoes. Women will also be issued sports bras.

3. If any fighter or a member of their corner refuses to wear the issued gear, they will assessed a penalty which includes a fine and possibly removal from the event.

4. Fighters must wear Reebok-issued gear during all UFC sponsored events including open workouts, media day, weigh-ins and press conferences. A fighter can opt to wear business or business casual attire to the press conference instead of the issued gear.

5. A fighter is responsible for lost merchandise and/or replacement costs.

6. Fighters are paid by the UFC within 10 business days of their fight. Fighters are paid based on the UFC fighter pay scale and their official ranking at the time of weigh-in.

7. The UFC logo is not to be covered and no other logo and/or sponsor can be visible while UFC has the option to add another sponsor/logo to the attire.

8. All headphones worn by fighters must be supplied by “Monster.”

9. After each fight, the fighter is required to select one piece of their official walkout gear-the product they physically wore to the Octagon (not including underwear) and return it to the UFC equipment manager.

10. Fighters must also wear Reebok apparel for any UFC-produced show including, Embedded, UFC Tonight, UFC Countdown, Ultimate Insider and The Ultimate Fighter.

You think he's going to get injured? Fail a drug test?

Jacare/Romero was easily the second best fight on the card.

Both. Same with Weidman(injury wise) The Jacare/Romero fight was a toss up. Both powerful athletic strikers with top level wrestling/BJJ. Losing this fight and the Mir/Silva fight hurts this card. It looks pretty weak now. I don't think either title match will be competitive. And the undercard is just :camby: outside Ferguson/Meirdeos.

The window that the NFL is wearing sponsored items far exceeds the UFC. All of that makes sense relative to Reebok getting proper exposure.

Every time I get excited about a PPV card :mjcry:

After all the trash talking and complaining he did after the last fight I wouldn't be upset to see Tim Kennedy get a rematch. Seeing him catch the beats is always satisfying :yeshrug:

The welterweight title picture is quite muddled, to say the least. In October, it looked like Rory MacDonald was set to fight the winner of Johny Hendricks vs. Robbie Lawler 2 after he stopped Tarec Saffiedine, but then that shot was revoked when Dana White stated that a rubber match between Lawler and Hendricks was likely. As it turns out, Lawler requested time off to heal after fighting 18 rounds over the span of 4 fights in 2014, so the UFC has now come up with a new plan for Lawler's first title defense. Per Ariel Helwani on UFC Tonight, the more impressive victor from Johny Hendricks vs. Matt Brown and Rory MacDonald vs. Hector Lombard will become the new #1 contender. Hendricks accepted the fight with Brown because he wanted to "stay busy" and not wait for Lawler to heal up.

It's not the first time that the "most impressive performance gets a title shot" method has been implemented. Fans may recall a similar instance in 2012 at UFC on Fox 4, when Dana White declared Lyoto Machida the #1 contender for Jon Jones' belt after his KO of Ryan Bader was deemed to be better than Mauricio Rua stopping Brandon Vera. Machida turned down the short-notice title shot against Jones at UFC 152, had to fight against Dan Henderson after that, and never got his rematch with Jones.

Hendricks vs. Brown is on the main card of UFC 185 on March 14th, while MacDonald vs. Lombard is on the UFC 186 main card on April 25th. Based on the dates of the two fights, don't expect Lawler to fight again until late summer or early autumn.
