:beli: already has 2 loses to the guy and is taking this fight having a 2 week turnaround, nothing to see here folks

They fought almost 5 years ago, both fighters have improved a lot since then. Their first fight was a classic. Cerrone is on a 6-fight win streak. I don't see what's not to like about this fight, especially considering Cerrone's a very late replacement. I think it's going to be a great trilogy.

Look at it this way, you're Joe Silva and find out Alvarez is hurt less than 2 weeks away from fight night. You have to find a replacement that is willing to fight one of the best LWs on very short notice, and set up a match-up that makes sense and is exciting. With the issues surrounding this situation, I don't think you can ask for a better replacement than what we got right now.

all those ppl bytchin about the card being thin outside the co main/main event well we can see why. Even with all the relative nobodies on the card the payout was still 1.3million due to Jones price tag
1.3 million for an entire card with one of the biggest stars in the sport is a lot? :dahell:

Pulling out of the fight with Bendo is smart for Alvarez. I don't think it's on purpose, and i'm sure he thinks he can win, but i think that fight not happening is best for him. I don't think he could win.

Also, The G.O.D II you said the last ppv could be near a million and i said no way, but some guys i know who run the larger sites and do analysis of web traffic and searches are saying the ppv may be a monster. Most people thought 700,000 would be a high point but early analysis shows it may have soared past that.
i don't know once I heard that they increased the ppv price ala 168 it's all become a farce to me. Even if it does hit 800k and above that's a byproduct of their self imposed inflation :camby:

the only legit draw on that card was Jones, then there is DC and cerrone who can headline but are unproven tickets. The rest of the card had ppl most ufc fans couldn't name out of a lineup hector Lombard included. Yes 1.3 million seems high but then I don't really pay much mind to the total payouts of events. I am just amazed on a one fight card like this ufc still parted 1.3 million dollars in salaries
