Reigning UFC light-heavyweight champion and headliner Jon Jones earned the top disclosed payday at this past weekend’s UFC 182 event.
Jones earned $500,000. His opponent, Daniel Cormier, who lost a unanimous decision, earned $90,000 (and would have received another $90,000 as a win bonus if victorious).
MMAjunkie today obtained the list of disclosed paydays from the Nevada State Athletic Commission.
UFC 182 took place this past Saturday, Jan. 3, at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
The total disclosed payroll for the event was $1.3 million.
The full disclosed UFC 182 payouts include:

def. Mats Nilsson: $8,000
Marion Reneau: $17,600 (includes $8,000 win bonus)*
def. Alexis Dufresne: $6,400*
* – Dufresne missed weight and forfeited 20 percent of “show” money to Reneau
Now, the usual disclaimer: The figures do not include deductions for items such as insurance, licenses and taxes. Additionally, the figures do not include money paid by sponsors, which can oftentimes be a substantial portion of a fighter’s income. They also do not include any other “locker room” or special discretionary bonuses the UFC oftentimes pays. Additionally, they don’t include any pay-per-view revenue some top fighters receive.
For example, as previously reported, UFC officials handed out additional $50,000 UFC 182 bonuses to Jones and Cormier (“Fight of the Night”), Jordan (“Performance of the Night”) and Felder (“Performance of the Night”).
In other words, the above figures are simply base salaries reported to the commission and do not reflect entire compensation packages for the event.

I don't think he can beat Cain or Werdum to be honest. He's not gonna want to be on the ground with someone the caliber of Werdum, and Cain is Cain. If Brock Lesnar couldn't keep Cain down I'm certain Jones can't either"There are definitely a lot of heavyweights that I know I would beat," Jones said. "A lot of heavyweights that could give me a hell of a run or possibly beat me. I keep it real. I'm smaller than these guys."
"A guy like Werdum, I would fight him every day, all day," Jones continued. "Why? Because he's not the biggest guy. But the heavyweights I believe would give me the hardest time are the big ones. Not necessarily the better skilled ones -- just the bigger ones. You shoot in and they sprawl out on you, that's going to take a lot of energy to finish that shot, you know what I mean?"
He never said he'd win all day against Werdum, he said he'd fight him because Werdum is small.
