So what about guys like Rockhold and Lawler who have Addidas deals? Or ppl like Cowboy or Tate who have Bud deals?
Adidas owns Reebok, so they may let that slide
the only additional info i have about it is this
Fighters will be paid on a per-fight basis, according to Lorenzo Fertitta. How they get paid will be communicated to them in upcoming weeks, but Fertitta said it will be based on where they are ranked at the day of the weigh-in prior to their fight.
- UFC champions will be paid at the highest level per fight with tiers for 1-5, 6-10, 11-15, and a base rate for everyone else.
- Fighters will get royalties of 20% for any merchandise sold bearing their likeness. This includes retired fighters and continues in perpetuity.
Existing sponsors will no longer be allowed on fighter clothing for pre-fight media appearances, fight week, and the cage walkout. Fighter camps must also adhere to the new policy.
- This also means that in-cage sponsor banners will be a thing of the past.
- Fertitta said that fighters can continue to be sponsored, but that "activation" of those deals will have to change. Essentially, no third party logos will be allowed on UFC broadcasts starting in July 2015.
- Maintaining fighter individuality is important to both Reebok and the UFC, and gear will be developed to help protect that. Gear and apparel will be supplied and ready for fighters on event week, similiar to any major league sport locker room. The UFC will hire equipment managers, similar to other major sports.
