Been taking a lot of tips from this thread. Got to a certain point and had to stop because my computer started lagging extremely hard. I actually had to take off the maximizer. But anyone want to give me some feedback on a mix? I don't want to clutter this thread with posting it in here, or making another thread.

Also for anyone wondering if they have to go out and get the Ozone plug ins, you shouldn't have to download any
of them if you're using FL, i's literally got all of the tools necessary that are apart of the program outside of
Maximus which didn't come free with the edition I purchased.

Listen to *** Cloud N9NE (BaskutKayz On the Guitar)*** by Myrical Lyfe #np on #SoundCloud

:lupe:

The instruments and vibe are dope, but the drums seem out of sync. I like the direction you going though in this beat.

Just work on the drum sequencing though. I know there's somebody else in hear that can prolly give a more detailed critique so apologies on that.

What do you mean out of sync? I'm not fond of clicked in super quantized drums. I lay my drums live.

Like in the beginning of the beat, it kinda sound cluttered. Like it wasn't really smooth like how the overall beat was. I guess because it seemed faster than the rest of the beat. I heard how you were panning them from left to right which was cool.

Maybe it's just me, and I'm not vocalizing it properly. It just seemed like the drum sequence didn't really go with the beat. I guess that's what I'm trying to say. Out of sync was the wrong choice of words fam so my bad.

@DBR aye trap lord, could you give the homie's beat a listen cuz I know you have a better ear for mixing and your drums are always on point.

All good. I was just curious. It's so hard to do automation in maschine, so I try to make the drums keep the intro moving

what/how much do you guys use bus's to get your mix? is it just for CPU? or to get all the sounds to be on the same page so to speak... i don't use my sends in ableton enough, until recently. but I dont usually use compressors or anything like that on my sends, just curious if i should be doing more than just verbs, delays, and saturation as my sends

I gave the beat a listen . Sound dope as fukk but i agree the drum seem out of sync . Maybe it was intentional wich sound very creative . I think its all about the clap cause hi hats and kicks seem on beat . I normally put my clap at each 8 or 16 bars depend on the bpm . With hip hop its all about the clap and snare cause emcee refer to this for the end and beginning of their rhyme pattern but i know some folks dont use that 8 - 16 bars rules to step out of the box and i think this is what myrical did with this beat . Its harder to write on those type of beats but i can give a really good end result sometime . When i use a sample i usually put 4 or 8 clap and then try to make the sample fit the clap and then i start building the rest of my drums and instruments that will go with the sample . Maybe try this technique see how it goes .

Hope it help :salute:

i think the biggest issue is, it sounds like you're not in 4/4 at first, which screws people up....and then when you are, it still seems off-tempo because the drums and the sample don't feel like they line up.

i'd say the drum sequencing is the problem more than anything.
