Romney paid almost $2 million in taxes according to his 2011 tax return and gave away $4 million in charitable contributions (a whopping 30% of his income).

So basically Harry Reid was lying when he said that Romney hadn't paid any taxes in 10 years. What a shocker..... a Democrat lying.

Romney gave away 30% of his income to charity.......Biden gave away just 1.5% of his income to charity.

More proof that liberals are only generous with other people's money.

Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney was far more generous to charities than President Barack Obama or Vice President Joe Biden last year, both in dollar terms and as a percentage of income, tax return data Romney’s campaign released Friday indicate.

Romney and his wife, Ann, gave 29.4 percent of their income to charity in 2011, donating $4,020,772 out of the $13,696,951 they took in.

Obama and first lady Michelle Obama gave 21.8 percent of their income to charitable organizations last year, donating $172,130 out of the $789,674 they made.

Biden and his wife, Jill, gave 1.5 percent of their income away in 2011, with charitable donations totaling $5,540 out of $379,035.

Republicans have mocked Obama and especially Biden for being unusually tight-fisted when it comes to making charitable gifts.

When the Obama campaign released past tax returns for Biden in 2008, it was revealed that the Bidens donated just $3,690 to charity over 10 years — an average of $369 a year.

“I do pay a higher effective tax rate than President Obama. And I do make more charitable contributions as a percentage of my income than either he or the vice president,” Rove said during a POLITICO Playbook breakfast at the Republican National Convention last month.

“Of course, that’s not hard when it’s compared with Vice President Biden. I think he’s getting his tips on charitable giving from Hillary Clinton pre-1992, you know, mark up the underwear and give it away to Goodwill.”

Rove was alluding to tax returns the Clintons released showing they’d taken $2 deductions for donating old underwear to charity.

Romney didn’t deduct all of his charitable donations for last year. He left $1.8 million in donations off his return in order to live up to a statement he made about always having paid at least a 13 percent tax rate on his income. With his charity write-offs partially held back, Romney overshot that mark a bit for 2011, paying at a 14.1 percent rate.

Romney paid 13.9% in 2010. He won't release anything from before that.

Romney realesed a notarized statement from PriceWaterHouseCooper that said that over the past 20 years, he paid an average annual effective federal tax rate was 20.20%.

Harry Reid and the Democrats are fukking liars.

nah reid said that romney didnt pay taxes for some years, he wasnt specific

this actually makes it more likely that reid was right, what romney is doing is taking the average over 20 years that way it hides the years where he didnt pay any taxes because it averages out

Romney Threatened To Cancel Univision Forum If Organizers Didn’t Allow Him To Bus In Supporters
By Igor Volsky on Sep 22, 2012 at 1:47 pm
Mitt Romney packed the audience for a Univision forum earlier this week, BuzzFeed’s McKay Coppins reports, busing in local supporters “after exhausting the few conservative groups on campus.” The campaign threatened to “reschedule” the event if organizers did not allow the “rowdy activists from around southern Florida in order to fill the extra seats at their town hall.”
Romney also refused to come out on stage after the hosts introduced him by noting that he “had agreed to give the network 35 minutes, and that Obama had agreed to a full hour the next night.” Univision re-taped the introduction after Romney allegedly “threw a tantrum.”
During the event, Romney dodged four questions about whether he would maintain President Obama’s directive allowing young undocumented immigrants to stay in the United States on a temporary basis and said that he is happy to be known as “the grandfather of Obamacare.”
Romney has a history of padding the audience. During a speech before National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO) in June, the GOP presidential candidate also brought in his supporters to the address.
