I'm getting concerned they bout to run peppers into the ground

we need a consistent running game bad, these rbs keep missing holes, except for Drake Johnson.

we need playmakers. I don't see where the big plays are going magically show up next year. hopeful okorn is the real deal

Agreed. If we had a good-great OLine, it would mask the need for playmakers. Because we'd be able to lean on our line to push our way forward, and pound the rock. Having a meh line AND no playmakers is going to kill us.

Brehs .. a win is a win. I get it... but I'm just not happy. For the first time this year, I think we regressed.

- Rudock isn't taking us anywhere. I never realized how bad he really is. No one knows where any pass over 8 yards is going. He's a checkdown king, and I'm totally ok with that .. but when you checkdown time and time again, without even looking at other options, it limits what you can do on offense. You would think that if a team decides to stack the box on us, and sell out to stop the run, we'd be able to hit some quick slants, or some quick outs to loosen them up .. well, naaa, Rudock can't seem to do that. And I refuse to believe that Fisch, Drevno and Harbaugh keep calling bad plays. It comes down to execution, and Rudock just isn't getting it done. So now, do we go with Speight? I mean.. it just looks like he needs game time reps. I'm not that big of a fan of his, but ever since high school, he's had damn good accuracy and he's got a decent arm. Way better than Rudock does, that's for sure. So, do we roll with Speight, and let him get his beak wet against Rutgers, or do we go back to Rudock?

- Our running backs .. I've said this before and I'll say it again .. De'Veon Smith is terrible. GREAT kid, but terrible running back. He plays hard.. I'll give him that .. but I swear to you.. at least 80% of the time that he carries the ball, I figure it's just a wasted down. At this point, a goal line back should be his m.o. As long as Drake is healthy, he should get the bulk of the carries. He's the only one that consistently hits the hole fast and hard as hell. We don't have the dominating OLine that can sustain blocks for long periods of time yet .. so when the hole is open for a split second, Drake finds it and before you know it, he's through it. I really wish Isaac wasn't such a bum. The kids got obvious talent .. but dude STAYS in the doghouse it seems. I think Derrick Green just seems to be a kucklehead. We need an elite back in this class, but it doesn't look like its going to happen. I know we're still in it on Kareem Walker, but have you guys seen his film? I think the kids a good player.. but a 5 star back? I don't see it. Now, I know we need more talent all around, but he just doesn't seem 'elite' to me. :manny:

- Receivers .. I like them. I like them all. The problem is, they're having a hard time showcasing their skills because of our poor QB play. I'll tell you what though .. they all block like maniacs though, and I love it. I like the talent we have there, and it's only going t get better. I think receiver is the first position that's going to be littered with elite talent at UM. We just NEED a consistent QB.

- Tight ends.. They all do any and everything asked of them. We knew this would be the case with Harbaugh on board. I like them all.

- OLine.. they're still weak as fukk to me. Whenever I see Kyle Kalis .. dude seems lost as hell. Literally .. he's either doing one of two things .. looking lost or taking blind shots on opposing DLineman :heh: Ben Braden is 6 feet 7 inches and 310 pounds of sissy cloth. I don't even remember seeing Mason Cole out there, which is why we burned Grant Newsome's redshirt yesterday when he started at left tackle. Even the gold boy seems to be falling out of favor with the staff it seems. I never thought he was getting it done at LT. He's always been so undersized. The whole unit is just disappointing to me.

- DLine.. They generated some pressure, but like Ed said .. all sorts of prayers were being answered for them last night. The stats looked WAAAAYYY worse than what really happened in the game.Like, the missed INT that they caught went for 40+ yards. Add that to the long TD pass that dude just heaved up there and turned Jeremy Clark around (that went for 60 plus I believe) and those 2 fluke plays alone went for over 100 yards passing.

- Corners.. JD did his thing. he always minimizes big plays. He might give up a catch or two, but they're never big plays. And he gets the tackle before any YAC. I don't even know what's going on with Striblng on the other side.

- Safeties.. Outside of Pepp, what the fukk is going on there too? Wilson is a bum. Delano Hill is constantly going for the big hit... even when there's no one to hit. :snoop: Our nickle package is shaping up to be hot trash.

- Linebackers.. If I were to actually type anything out here, ya'll would fall asleep. They can't tackle. They cant cover. They don't contain. They dont stay in the lanes. They literally do do ANYTHING that's asked of a linebacker.

I'll end this long ass post with this. If I'm a high school QB, RB, OL, LB, Safety, or CB ... and I want early playing time ... I'm going to Michigan. You'd have a fair shot at starting, the second you threw you cap up in the air at graduation. We need a lot of talent before we get where we want to be. This game let me down something fierce. We have so many glaring holes. :mjcry:

defense had one bad performance. don't throw all their other showings out the window.

it's not that bad. relax

biggest thing we can do to help the defense is get a more cconsistent offense

Believe it it or not, I'm not throwing in the towel because of one bad performance. It's shyt that isn't getting fixed that's killing me. The linebacker play has gotten worse as the year's gone by. They still can't tackle. They still can't cover.

The QB play has arguably gotten worse too.

Them dudes was getting int's tipped into 40 yard gains...struggle screen plays turned into 60, packers-Charles Woodson-esque interceptions turned into just broken passes....fumbles turned into..not fumbles....I don't believe in luck (only skill and blessing) but damn that, them dudes was LUCKY AS fukk until their blessing ran out at 00:02
The one pass where Lewis had perfect coverage and the qb throws up s bad pass behind the receiver but some how the receiver turns around at the perfect time and the ball lands right on his hands. If the qb made a good throw it would've went directly to Lewis. :heh:

Announcer like beautiful back shoulder throw:shaq2:

@Trust Me perfectly summed it up this team desperately needs an infusion of talent at key spots OL S CB LB QB(Peters Gentry O'Korn save us:mjcry:)even D-line needs a pass rusher. @Trust Me maybe move Cole to RT:jbhmm:.Hill I don't know what to do with him honestly he's giving up huge plays back to back weeks strictly his assignments no excuses for him can't stay on the field if you giving up TD's.Stribling and Clark just aren't that good David Long Jr. please:smugfavre:.Wilson anytime 1 on 1 isn't a good matchup he does play solidly when's he deep safeties need a speed upgrade:francis:.LB's I would take Jackson Kelly and Bush Jr. immediately the lack of athleticism is :mjcry:. Offense nothing needs to said upgrades need to happen all over the place QB starting first

This is where a dual threat qb would help mask our inefficiency on offense imo. But we don't have that bail out this year. I'm also not a fan of the play calling. It seems really predictable, which I'm fine with if it's the best set of plays for the players we have, but on film you've seen almost all of our basic play sets. Would like to see more creativity. And where the hell was Higdon last night? I feel like he could open up the offense given the opportunity. Hopefully we get a good lead on Rutgers and Harbaugh puts Speight & Higdon in with the first team offense just to see what they fully have.

Actually agree with Higdon he's looked good in limited time actually made a cut against NW that none of the other RB's have done. Some respected posters on the Scout board have said the staff has has to essentially cut the playbook in half because of Rudock's limitations:ehh:that might explain it:manny:

word is Gawdbaugh gonna finish strong on the recruiting trail:smugfavre:I'm hopeful:mjcry:

I think he does too, but recruiting is a dangerous game. I wont feel comfortable till these kids sign the scholarship.

I've seen some say D.Smith should move to LB:russ:I'd move him to FB:jbhmm:

Never thought of Smith to LB .. and if we strike out on some LB'ers in recruiting, why not try it out? He is literally the slowest running back that I've ever seen in my life. High school included.

You guys are doing too much. There are 16 teams ranked ahead of us. Outside of like 5 of those teams, no one has this imaginary "elite talent gap." You can toss in USC as being unranked and up there. You spend so much time stressing out flaws that you ignore the flaws of every other team. It's like you guys think we're going to play Bama every game for the rest of the year. CALM DOWN. Yes, @Trust Me and @HNIC973 are exaggerating. I think most U of M fans are looking at you crazy right now.

We have flaws, like other teams do, but the most glaring ones are @LB and QB. Of course other positions can be upgraded. Having positions that need upgrades never stopped Bama from competing, or TCU and Oklahoma right now. What exactly do they have on defense? Michigan will be fine. Harbaugh was cautious and went with a veteran QB who has an incredibly limited skill set and everything else trickles down from there. People crowd the lines, receivers routes get predictable, etc. Speight being in for those few plays showed that. Remember this post after our next game.

We are just posting about our flaws that got exposed by one of the worst offenses in the nation.Their QB was among the worst also. But like I said we'll see against Indiana they have a good offense. It seems like a lot of y'all just post about Rudock we get it he's a problem but he isn't the flaw on this team.No we don't play TCU Bama every week but we do play arguably the most talented team in the country later this year so excuse us for looking at this squad objectively instead of this fukk Jake Rudock parade:manny:
