I like Memphis. It is a genuine American city that has a lot of African American culture. If you like a lot of open green spaces inside of a city; good music; family atmosphere and great Soul food, then Memphis is your spot. The main problem for Memphis is that it borders Mississippi and Arkansas, which has a lot of poverty. So a lot of crime comes from that poverty. Otherwise the Midtown area of Memphis and the areas east of Midtown are really nice and incredibly affordable.
The best part about Chattanooga is that if you keep going south you will eventually hit Atlanta; and if you go north you will eventually hit Nashville. The rest of East Tennessee sucks too. By East Tennessee, you can only be meaning Knoxville and Chattanooga; because your ass ain't trying to go anywhere the fukk else over there. In fact if you are in Tennessee and your ass ain't in Nashville or Memphis then take your ass to Nashville or Memphis. Da fukk wrong with you mane. You don't be running your ass up in these little fukked up towns in any of these Southern states.

Went to school in Memphis. From a small town in Mississippi and my first day there and the news had a McDonalds being robbed through the drive-through window. My country ass was like damn these Memphis nikkas...

I got plenty of family that live in memphis, mater of fact I'm here now for the holidays. I came up in the early 2000 Memphis so I was deep in level 2 and senses. Shout out playa fly and al kaponebut if u a single breh with degree and no kids u can eat like it's no tomorrow. Too bad all the women look like Anthony Anderson . I'm on tinder right now and they looking rougher than I remember
I moved to Memphis from Dallas and never had a problem with the city.

I'm from Knox, went to school in Chatt, and met more than a dozen brehs from Cali. Honestly, you would hate it (unless maybe you're on the family tip). Less cosmopolitan than the west coast by miles and the black population is much smaller and poorer compared to surrounding metro areas (atl nashville memphis). If you've never been to the southeast before it'll probably be a culture shock (from what my cali folks have told me) as well.
Honestly, I would tell you to go to Atlanta if you can deal with the traffic (which west coast brehs are used to).
