I’ve heard this numerous times
It's the truth :yeshrug: low income city's held up by factory jobs which will all be gone in 4 years, increasing crime rate , below average Entertainment/ nightlife and constant deconstruction with no plans of building anything new. Only good thing is u can live like birdman on 75k a year.

i don't wanna agree but if fedex and/or international paper ever relocate

it's prolly a wrap for fed in memphis once fred smith dies

and while i'm not pulling down 75k/yr, it's not too bad if you're making 35k+ with no kids or crazy habits, i keep reading about places like nyc and san fran and how it's difficult to afford to live in the city unless you're genuinely wealthy

random crime / violence, eh, it is what it is, just be alert and keep a legally owned tool on you

nightlife here ain't that bad imo if you're not on some bougie/cosmo shyt, it was rough in the early 2000s unless you were part of the level ii or senses crowds

I feel like now it’s TRYING to improve as far as entertainment and other things vs. when this thread was first made. However you are right about the warehouse jobs vs. higher income jobs. Once they can actually make the city attractive to college grads that’ll show we actually have the skilled work force for higher paying jobs. I replied to this thread while I was still in college and NONE of my friends that went off to school came back

But lowkey you just described every other blue collar city in America :yeshrug:so I’m not tripping. My neighborhood is relatively safe and I got a job in my field 2 months after I graduated so I’m fine. All of my friends and family are too

I got plenty of family that live in memphis, mater of fact I'm here now for the holidays. I came up in the early 2000 Memphis so I was deep in level 2 and senses. Shout out playa fly and al kapone :blessed: but if u a single breh with degree and no kids u can eat like it's no tomorrow. Too bad all the women look like Anthony Anderson . I'm on tinder right now and they looking rougher than I remember :hubie:

Age plays a big role in that. If you're looking for the average young( 18-32)attractive memphis woman your best bet is Facebook or ig(I don't know why that is). Ask the average memphis junt about tinder and they will look at you like you're crazy.
