Just finished the season and it was a five out of ten. A big disappointment in my eyes. When they added that Billy Russo/Jigsaw was in the army with Frank and his best friend
I pretty much guessed correctly how the whole season would go down. For starters there was way too much time focused on Midani in the series, we have no idea who she is but we are treated to all her beliefs, opinions, family, business and personal relationships.
I mean damn, is this the punisher or Homeland. Thats a major theme that's wrong with the show. It doesn't know what it wants to be. It tries to be a part Homeland, part The Unit, part Person of Intetest based on characters in the Punisher comic book series. It all mashes together horribly and sloppily. They also retracted that old army story of Frank being betrayed in season 2 Daredevil where he killed Schoovner and supposedly got his revenge. Billy wasn't mentioned at all on Daredevil so that tells me they just made this shyt up on the fly.
And how does it not occur to Frank that Billy was involved with Rawlins ,Schoovner and the heroin when Gunner literally tells him with his dying breath in the woods that
BILLY WAS IN ON IT.I mean WTF, did someone just forget that Gunner said that.
The Lewis storyline was handled excellently and in my opinion aside from Frank, Micro and his family's interactions was the best part of the series. The worst part of the season was how they always tried to tie Midani and Billy into the story even when it made no logical sense. Like how Billy's company gets hired to protect the Senator when they are a start-up and how Midani came to the park alone after putting the tracer on Frank.
And dont think I didn't catch how the only black man in the series was treated as a helpless fool who akways needed saving.
All in all the acting was very good but the story had too many illogical points and plot holes like the very end when the C.I.A director said fukk it and let the biggest serial killer and vigilante in the wirld go free
. Maybe next season will be better.
