This was a promising start to the second season. Liked the more pragmatic version of Coulson and the team being fugitive (even though the idea that a guy who is wanted by the Feds as bad as Couson could be regularly flying commercial airlines is pretty stupid) and the inclusion of mercenaries to shore up the team.
Of course none of the mercenaries were all that interesting aside from Lucy Lawless' character so hopefully she isn't dead because it would be a waste of a really good fan favorite actress.
The stuff with Fitz was tedious and had me wanting to FF so damn much. They should have killed him last season. It would have explained why Simmons would leave because her leaving a brain addled Fitz makes no sense. It would also make Ward an even more reprehensible character because he killed some one that the team was personally invested in.
Those Ward and Skye scenes came off like a bland version of Hannibal Lecter and Clarice Starling in a community college theater class's version of Silence of the Lambs.
Still don't give a damn about Skye though.
Absorbing Man was cool and they must have used 70% of their FX budget with him because his transformations looked cool as fukk.
That flashback open was kinda blah. Dressing Peggy Carter like a butch lesbian is not the business and hopefully they fix that before her show starts.
Also Reed Diamond plays one type of role well and that is smarmy jackass. Diabolical Nazi would be world conqueror is not in his wheelhouse. If they wanted to keep Ward around they should have gone full dark side and have him get away at the end of last season and continue Garrett's work and have Ward as the Big Bad for this season.
