On the most recent edition of the Steve Austin Unleashed podcast Lucha Underground producer Eric Van Wagenen was interviewed and spoke about the future of the show.

As of late, a second season of Lucha Underground has been unclear, talent have been unsure whether or not to take bookings for other show but it appears that all is well.

Lucha Underground Producer Eric Van Wagenen told Steve Austin:

“El Rey absolutely wants us back. They’ve given us an offer on the table, we want you to come back 40 more episodes, ‘we’d love to have you start airing in October. We want you back.’ Now, what we’re trying to do as an organization, is we want to maintain this certain level of production value.

There’s the amount of money El Rey is giving us, and then there’s this amount of money that we need to spend in order to keep the same level of quality that we’ve established. […] It’s a high production value, we put a lot of emphasis on the production value, we don’t cut any corners.

So now, what we are doing is, myself and the other El Rey executives and the investors and Mark Burnett and the people who work now at the United Artist Media group – there is a combined effort to bridge that gap, between the money El Rey is giving us and the money we need.

All options are on the table, whether that’s Netflix, or iTunes, or a secondary broadcast partner, or DVD sales, merchandise, you name it, every options on the table. The money guys are trying to close that gap, and once we have that gap closed, we’re announcing.”
:damn: Don't take Lucha from me!!!

It won't ever happen but imagine if Vince smartened up and said "We want to put you on the Network" so they stop dropping matches and episodes on Youtube but make them available on-demand through the WWE Network after a week or so.
It's too expensive

Always love me some Bengala, wish he competed more.

Crowd was marking the fukk out for Vampiro.:wow: Not sure if they should've had him slam Pentagon like that though. Made dude look leak when right now he should be looking as strong as possible.

Really loved the Killshot/Cuerno match. Two guys with similar gimmicks hunting each other in the ring. Pure greatness.

The word about the seven ancient medallions btw is that the person who holds them, can only be defeated through a 7-count (!), which might be one of the dopest concepts in wrestling in a while. :ohhh:

"I can cut the tension with a machete, heh heh heh!" - Dario Cueto in broken English :deadrose:

And of course, as always...

Fell a month behind :snoop: can anyone point me to some good matches or important storylines I've missed? Is Angela Fong still trying to kill Cuerto?

Just caught up on everything these past few weeks. Best weekly wrestling show.

I love how this is presented as a drama with outside plots and supernatural themes.

I think everyone knows wrestling is scripted so why not book it like a TV show?

Plus the wrestling is amazing and matches have great psychology . Muertes, Fenix, and Pentagon Jr. could be stars anywhere right now. Puma too but he's got some character stuff to work on, Konnan is kinda carrying his stuff outside the ring.

Plus you got established stars like Mundo, Alberto, Del Rio, Chavo, Texano, and Blue Demon in the mix making everything seem like a bigger deal.

Plus them chicks are bad and are top tier workers :noah:
