I gotta get caught up from last week's episode. Been too lazy to watch. Loving my new shirt. Might get the logo one sometime.

Great match between Texano and Johnny Mundo.

Kinda disappointed the 7 count rumor about the Gift Of The Gods belt wasn't true but I loved the shot at MITB. "I like to promote my championship matches, so there won't be no cash this in, whenever you want!" :russ:

"PEDIGREE! It works every Monday night, will it work here?!" :gladbron: Mark Matt Striker is too fukking great. :deadrose:

So last week Vampiro laid out Pentagon Jr. and this week Puma lays out Mil Muertes. That does not bode well for either two parties, does it? :patrice:

Speaking of, I don't think I've ever seen someone move as fast and fluent in the ring as Puma did. That was insane. :whoo:

I usually catch this On Demand as Wednesday is a heavy TV live for me. My shows usually take priority and I can't sub them for Lucha Underground. I have finished 3 weeks of back log and caught up to the most recent showing. This outfit continues to impress. They have something special with the 1 hour format but the 3 (or 4) matches always have time to breathe. I enjoy seeing everyone get some shine on a consistent basis.

There is something special about the Lucha Libre style. These guys are artists. I love seeing Johnny Mundo, Puma, Angelico, Son Of Havoc, Sexy Star, Kill Shot, Pentagon Jr, The Mack and the rest of them dudes go off. I'm glad that I didn't miss Ultima Lucha. That joint is shaping up to go off nicely. They really do have PPV type matches for the free.

Eric Van Wagenen, who is a producer on Lucha Underground, appeared on this week’s Wrestling Compadres podcast. Check out the video below as well as some highlights:

Also read: Lucha Underground Denies Reports Of Getting Renewed For A Second Season

On a second season of the show: “I can tell you with almost full certainty that it is going to happen. The when and the where is all dependent on our ability to raise enough money to keep the production standards the same. We are all very committed to keeping Lucha Underground the best looking, most innovative and most creative wrestling product out there. Sometimes it comes at a price. Vignettes, editing, they’re not cheap. El Rey is a great network to work with, they just can’t justify spending the kind of money that you would get form much bigger cable channel.”

On getting more money for the series: We are looking for alternative ways to raise money, whether that’s a secondary broadcast network, steaming services. We know there’s a #NetflixNeedsLucha hashtag going around that’s gaining traction. We are looking at all of our options and that will determine the when and the where. There is talk of moving to a cheaper location. If I were to guess, I would say we would be back on the air by January…Everybody who is involved in the show is committed to keeping it on the air, but we are committed to keeping THIS show on the air. We don’t want to dumb it down, we don’t want to cheapen it. We have a great creative team in place, we want to keep everybody doing exactly what it is we’ve done in season 1, so we’re just working out the details.

It's in line with Van Wagenen's comments before. Everyone (including El Rey) wants to do Season 2, the thing that's holding them up is that they don't want to do it for less of the production value of Season 1. And that just takes time.
