La Puente is on the far east side of LA, so it's not near any beaches.
You'd have to drive West for about an hour before you hit the beach...but once you got to the west side of LA you'd have about 5 beaches to choose from (Manhattan Beach, Santa Monica Beach, Redondo Beach, Venice Beach, Hermosa Beach).
If you really wanna do it big you could drive another hour North-West and hit all the beaches in Malibu.
