Well yes it has to be that time period and also they have tablets and stuff . mental health is a big part of legion as a character so it makes sense

wasnt that syd?

how could anyone say this is a waste of time ? I feel like people are spoiled and unless a episode directly spells out Answers or is actionpacked it's filler. The show answered a lot subtly and developed characters.

Because everything you described could've been done in a new setting. This was basically a retread of the first episode.

I'm not even saying I agree, I liked it. But I can understand the complaints.

I don't think they should have let them be trapped in the Astral Plane for more than one episode. It seems like almost every Sci Fi show over the past year needs to have a "Protagonist trapped in a mental world" episode. Just like in the 90's every show had to have a "Groundhog Day" episode.

One thing about this episode...
For the first time we got some information on the time period it takes place in:

Ptonomy says that he used to listen to "99 Luftballons" as a child.
That means the show definitely takes place in a time period where Charles Xavier looks like Patrick Stewart.
I felt Oliver's being trapped for twenty years and then asking about "free love" and "braless women" was the first time

I wouldn't put too much thought into what year or time frame this is, even if you look at a song like "99 Luftbaloons", it came out in 1995. Ptonomy looks like he's in his 30's, which makes sense but then Melanie said Oliver has been trapped 20 years and he was talking about free love, which is from the 60's. The shyt purposely doesn't add up so the year and time is vague.

No Whammies!!
I guess at the end of the day they'll fall back on the fact that this is a parallel universe with a totally mixed up timeline where World War 2 happened about 30 years ago, yet people make references to 80s songs and use tablet computers. Kind of like "Archer".

Yeah. Just like "Logan". Not time-wise but it has characters from the core "X-Men" movies but obviously doesn't take place in the same universe.

The Truth
This show lit?
Its getting litter

Im officially all aboard. The first few episodes drag so fukking long and confuses the fukk out of anyone without much history of the lore of Legion.

First 2/3 episodes ate confusing (one is legit terrifying though)

I think 5/6 have been the more clarifying episodes of the extent of Legions (Davids) powers and the entity that is after him. Its dope especially episode 5 I think. Last week seems like a filler episode
