Is this official yet?

As far as I'm concerned, all the arguments against keeping Lin were made irrelevant when the stretch provision was revealed. No reason not to match that offer considering the reward far outweighed the risk. If this becomes official, it will be yet another example of Dolan allowing his pride to dictate his basketball decisions.

They have until Midnight to get their head out of their ass.

Not official yet. Anything can still happen. Knicks might be trolling. We will see.

Ignoring the report of Lin being blindsided and wanting to still be here huh? :skip:

Lin wanting to be here is irrelevant. Knicks staff apparently don't want him here for whatever reason. I personally think it's ridiculous. Whatever.

Just bring this fukking season on already.

:snoop: I'm really not looking forward to the constant performance comparisons between Felton and Lin next year by the media and the bytchass contingency of Knick fans. Well, of course there'll only be a comparison if Lin is doing better. :youngsabo:

This is true. No one is bigger than the crew. This will sting a little bit to some but it's going to save the organization, coach and players, a major headache down the road. Plus, if Houston had gotten away with this move - it would have set a precedent for the whole league.

So we wish Lin well in his future endeavors. Houston can enjoy paying him. We can all watch his progress next season. This may have saved Lin from the NY media scrutiny that he may or may not be equipped to deal with.

:heh: except the fat Diva "leading" this team who has the worst career playoff percentage of any substantial player in league history :aicmon:

Insignificant posting from an insignificant poster
David Aldridge Says The Knicks Should Keep Lin

Finally A Respected Guy With A Brain Weighs In, I Suggest Everyone Read This

Aldridge Weighs In: Why Knicks Should Keep Jeremy Lin « NBA.com | Hang Time Blog

"I have no dog in this hunt. I’m neither a Knicks fan nor a hater. But it seems clear that, while the Knicks would certainly be paying above market and basketball value for Lin by matching the offer sheet, the implications of not doing so could bring even greater risk. And, even if it turns out Lin is a complete bust, it doesn’t have to be nearly as punitive in that potentially toxic third year for New York as people are making it out to be."

Everybody read... for the preponderance alone.

Umph.

Your ignoring the reports that the Knicks wanted him then huh .They fought for his bird rights and promised him a starting job even after signing Kidd , melo chandler and coach took him out to eat in la and trained with him say they will match any offer .What does he go do ? Get more money added to his deal so we get a bigger tax hit.he hasn't came out and said he wanted to be here either like jr and Novak. Hell Kidd bigged him up in his presser. Lin has tied to Houston thru Yao Ming and said he was going to go play on his Asian team if Knicks cut him . That blindsided report came from nowhere a anonymous source I'll take the actions over that bull.
