Fields bricked so many open shots, and clanked so many free throws, that nikka held himself back. Doesn't explain why his defense became so mediocre the last two months of the season either. the only thing that kept his fg% up was other guys helping him get easy shots near the basket.

Edit: Let me reiterate, Melo and Lin got that nikka so many open 3 point shots, that if he shot the ball anywhere close to his first year, he would've been averaging double digit points.He fukked with the mechanics of jumper in the offseason and broke his shot because of it.
