:usure: And pay double the taxes for living in 1 state & working in the other?

Why do you think all the Jets/Giants live in NJ & all the Knicks, Yankees, Rangers, Mets live in NY city/state?

I believe according to the law the state providing the job is the state where you pay taxes. No double taxes. Thats how all these "work from home" moms who work for Answering Service companies work. My cousin's wife is one. Lives in GA but company based in CT.

Lin and the Rockets blindsided the Knicks with this last minute lottery balloon payment contract adjustment. I am leaning toward the Knicks calling Lins and the Rockets bluff and letting Houston have an overpaid/inexperienced point guard to run their show. He can chill with Yao Ming.

Reading the Knicks comments, most of the players are big-upping Kidd as the best point guard and are giving him much praise and respect. The praise for Kidd is so abundant that it seems like they are low-key dissing Lin. (Read the player comments)

Also - if Lin becomes that highly overpaid PG for the Knicks it going to breed all sorts of resentment now (because he does not deserve such a big payday) AND in the future (when Kidd shows him how its done on the court). (Again, read the player comments)

Let Lin walk....

LAS VEGAS — J.R. Smith said he doesn’t care if he starts for the Knicks or comes off the bench as long as he is paired with Jason Kidd.

“Wherever J-Kidd is, that’s where I want to be,” said Smith, who re-signed this week. “Wherever J-Kidd is, that’s where I’m at. That’s where I want to be. I love his game. I don’t know him personally. I love his demeanor toward the game, how serious he takes the game. I heard he’s one of the best teammates. He’s a class act from what I understand.’’

Smith sees Kidd, the veteran point guard who signed a three-year free-agent deal, having a big effect on the Knicks offense.

“It’s open shots all day,” Smith said. “Our job is to make them. With J-Kidd, he’s finding everybody. Not only is he going to help myself and [Steve] Novak, he’s going to help our bigs.”

Carmelo Anthony thought it could actually be good for Lin to come off the bench and learn from Kidd this season.

“This will be one of the best opportunities that Jeremy will ever have, from a standpoint of playing under Kidd,’’ Anthony said before the U.S. Olympic team’s practice as it gears up for Thursday night’s exhibition game versus the Dominican Republic.

“If [Lin] comes off the bench, playing behind a guy like Jason Kidd, playing under a guy and learning from Jason Kidd, he should take advantage of this opportunity — just having JKidd on our team.’’

See the above. It seems like the team would prefer Kidd over Lin. I can't disagree. In no way is Lin worth $10 million based upon performance. Marketing is another story. But he needs to pay his dues.

Respect has to be earned in the locker room...salary does not equate respect. In fact, exaggerated salaries can have a negative impact in a locker room

Ehh I get what your saying backdooring money and shyt with the team that cut you ? I want Lin but I know Yao is his mentor so maybe he's trying to sway him , he needs to act like he cares about winning though instead it seems like his fame going to his head.

Overpaying Lin has more than just locker room repercussions. It will have cap implications in a few years that will hinder the Knicks options.

I have no problem with Lin. I don't think he should be the 4th highest paid player on the team having only performed for about only 3-4 weeks total.
