So Rory joe mal and parks all decided to come up with a lie about Rolex’s and vacations ?

It's possibly that Mal and Rory weren't in the room when 90% of these discussions were being had and just went off of what Joe says. So, they're not lying per se but they could be indirectly misrepresenting things based off hearsay. If Joe comes and tells them, "hey, Spotify told us to pick out watches" then in their eyes, this is what Spotify did. When we all know, this is one of the, if not the most unreliable, non fact checking podcasts there is. Not saying that this happened but I could see it happening.

Just like a few episodes ago where they said be careful around bytches who got a way with words, same for a rapping ass nikka like Joe. That nikka love to say a lot, and pump himself up, and leave details omitted or all kinds of distorted to boost his side of things.

I've heard Rory mention on the Pod several times that he has lawyers when alluding to business with Joe and the Pod also heard Joe confirm it. I don't think all these big things go down without Rory's knowledge, and knowledge of the details, but anything could happen.

This dude got exposed for living with his mother and lying about every aspect of his life on Twitter. :camby:

Let’s just say $20MM is a real number. You’d have to be a damn fool not to take that for 6 hours of work a week. That doesn’t even include what you make off live gates, festivals, merch and whatever else you’re doing. All of this to talk about nothing with your homeboys.

Anyone who says they would turn that down is either trying to prove something to black twitter or insane.

If Spotify supposedly wanted everything including spin-offs and The Pull Up, as well as rights to Joe, Rory, Mal and Parks, while also taking away creative input...nah. That's a terrible deal and we'd be telling them in 5 years that it was a stupid deal to take just like we tell these artists their deals are all bad when they sign and realize what's going on. Joe kept saying he's seen this in music, sounded like a podcast 360 deal.:yeshrug:

The money is an issue, but more than that, Joe has always preached creative control and ownership. He's made it sound like they're lowballing on money AND asking for everything in the process.

This.

Serious question - for the folks who said he should have signed that deal, would you sign a deal like that? In return, Spotify gets a piece of EVERY venture you participate in?

I highly doubt they wanted creative control. The show is a success. If they did want a piece of the tour, then that’s fair considering most of the marketing and promo comes directly from their platform. As far as Rory and Mal’s ventures, is anything they do going to generate millions on its own? I can’t see it but you never know.

I thought Crissle and ol boy had a TV show?
Only lasted one season I think

To me this goes back on if Joe is telling the truth about outside deals. If Joe really making millions on SOTC, Love and Hip Hop, and The Pull up like he says then no I probably wouldn't sign that contract. If them numbers ain't real though I definitely would. I guess it comes down to when is enough enough. To compare it to the business world a lot of people start a business to eventually cash out and sell it when they reach a certain number. For me you give me that 5 or 10 million and I can sit back and relax and stop the grind.

Another big factor is how much potential growth do I see outside of the podcast. Like for Rory and Mal especially I would want the deal unless they really believe that they can flip their podcast popularity into other ventures and cake up for real. I personally don't see it but I'm not them.

EDIT: It's like I said in a previous post even before this last podcast, at a certain point you got to look to cash out. Especially with podcasts where we've seen a lot lose popularity quickly and go from the hottest thing out to barely discussed so you strike while the iron is hot. So if I'm Joe at this point it is the time to strike IMO.

Joe said he sent Spotify a piece of the tour money. And that makes sense considering it's the podcast. As far as Mal and Rory, not sure about Mal, but Dussepalooza is probably his most lucrative venture. Not sure how much he makes off it tho :yeshrug:

If Joe and the lawyers don't line up a deal for the podcast by the end of the year at the latest, IMO he fukked up. Tough having folks in your pocket though, regardless of your earnings.
