They were all :smugbiden: when they were on top and thought their sh*t didn’t stink. Anybody can get knocked off the top especially in a CROWDED podcast community. They thought they were worth Rogan money :mjlol: not when y’all been playing it safe and the podcast doesn’t have the same zing to it.

ive been a listener since ep 001. Couldn’t wait til a new ep dropped :ohlawd: now when I see I’m at the end of an episode I’m like thank god :blessed:

it’s a shame what happened to the JBP :francis:
why would You still listen if you just waiting for the end. You nikkaz werdios :russ::russ::lolbron::lolbron:

That Rogan deal made budden greedy

Why are people assuming, well why did they go audio exclusive in the first place? Safe to say if everything else was the same as when they first signed that they'd sign again, that's just as simple as 2+2.

You don't "strategically" go back to not having a deal. And if Spotify had enough money to secure rights to podcasts from The Ringer, Rogan, Kim K, and Marvel, then they had to have had enough for this pod too right? Or if we study Budden history, nobody ever seemingly has enough for him. "Well he's pushing things forward, he's for the creators", seems like everyone else is doing a better job creating the landscape than him with their deals.

He apparently had one of Spotify's top podcasts when 2019 ended, how does he not have a deal 1 year later? Did numbers decline that much or did he go into negotiations and Budden things like with Complex, where people come out after the fact saying the demands were outrageous?

So yeah it's easy to see why people aren't giving benefit of the doubt.
I feel like they used the jb podcast to get their foot in the podcasting game and figured they didn't need to spend money on a hip hop podcast anymore once bigger names started joining.

I think this has more to do with spotify being a shytty company than joe talking himself out of another deal. Even gillie hinted that spotify was fukking joe over.

yeah I suspect this, Even though I know Budden is known to self sabotage shxt ... once I heard about the Rogan deal, I knew it wasn’t going to look good for them

Here's where JBP fans jump the shark. Spotify purchased an entire production company before getting rights to Budden, everything they have now they would've ended up with just the same. Especially with Apple not showing the same care to the genre until now after Spotify claimed everything. They didn't need Joe, he was a feather in the cap though. They're showing you that right now.

shytty companies still love money, I already gave the stat that the podcast finished 2019 among one of the most streamed. This includes The Ringer that they ended up buying later, so if the dynamic was still the same, why do they not have a podcast deal not even a year later but Marvel comics does? This still hasn't been answered. Apple is hurting for content clinging to the corpse & fried brain of Wayne as an exclusive, they can't draw more streams than Lil Wayne mumbling around for an hour with his hair falling out?

All I know is for show that was a top podcast not even a full calendar year since it's not December yet, this isn't a good look. Spotify didn't want to carry it anymore, he talked down on Apple on the jump over so they probably said fukk it, up & coming platforms like Sirius who could use somebody didn't throw anything at him. All these companies can't be shytty.

Someone is going to pay them, you guys are tripping. It's just a matter of who. And all this dreary talk may be nothing but public negotiations. I'm not saying it is gonna happen, but it wouldn't shock me if Spotify and them still came to a deal.

Regardless, they will have options. Maybe TWITCH. Or maybe DIDDY might offer them a big bag to come to Revolt.

Joe jumpin' around from topic to topic like he back on that dust. Every time he ask Rory or Mal what they have to say about something or if they wanna "keep it here" they just commence with the "hmmm, I mean, I think you said it best", "Nah, not really", even when it's a decent topic. Like, da fuk you poddin' for if you not gon' have any commentary?

:patrice: or them pain meds from all that damn dental work

Sparking blunts in the shade.
Joe sending out bird calls to IG thotties is perfectly fine, as a matter of fact if it was my pod sleepers of the day would turn into who I’m sleeping with tomorrow. But this tell Von that I’m afraid of you and want to be friends was nasty.:hhh:

Tell any women that right now is the best time to get married when none of their friends and fam can come, let me know how that goes

I’ve been to 3 wedding in Long Island these past 3-4 months. 2 regular houses, one estate. I don’t believe that excuse, women can still get it done, but unfortunately, some of them want to be able to brag about having a big wedding to their girlfriends over brunch

:mjlol:

Funny thing is the families at each wedding were happier because what started at 100-120 ppl decreased to 30 and they saved mad money everything.

I think it's as simple as Joe and them asked for too much money and Spotify hit them w/ a reality check instead of that check and they didn't take it well. I remember maybe a month or two (or maybe 5 months ago, quarantine time is all the same to me) Budden was bytching about what Joe Rogan took, because that sets the market for everyone. I'm sure at that moment, whatever number Joe and them had in mind, was just dust in the wind.

You just made my point for me. No women is WANTING to get married in this shyt. The weddings going on are happening because the dates were already picked and the couple couldn’t get out of it or chose to just go forward.
