Yes it was 2009 and the height of him actually being blackballed and under fire, yet he STILL cleared 100k 1st week for his album.

I say all that to say: that man done got over 200k 1st week sales since THEN and never dropped under 100k, until now. He ain't blackballed.
Im not sure how you're missing the point when there's literally not even physical CDs for sale in 2022 :comeon:

i dont listen to cole or wale....but i always figured cole was way bigger than wale...so i went to the spotify numbers...cole got 4x the monthly listeners, 9 of his top 10 songs are at 200mil or better and he got a joint with a billion streams :damn:

he getting smoked?
Wale would win if the whole audience at the Versus is only black women. That's his demo and he got that covered. Other than that Cole is cooking him.

Also, I've bought every Chris Brown album since Exclusive up until this one. And thats because I have Apple Music so I don't understand the reasoning to buy it when it's already right there to stream. :ld:

Depends on the audience, but Meek could definitely beat J Cole depending on where it's at. But J cole is so much better than Meek as a rapper, and he has hits, I would pick Cole in a neutral spot.
What are these hits ?

Any song he has with Drake. Think like 2-3.
Intro
Boss
Song with Nicki/Chris Brown
That song he sampled w/e you need.

After that Im coming up blank and only like 3-4 of those I would classify as guaranteed points :manny:

Edit: May have read that wrong, seems you mean Jcole's hits?

Black women love Wale. Black women like J. Cole. You can argue they love both, but they LOVE Wale.

But white people (mostly) don’t care about Wale. At all. White people love J. Cole. That’s the big difference to me whenever people ask why one is more popular than the other

He has way more hit records than Meek. People tend to overrate how well "party" records translate in Verzuz. Meek has more club records, but Cole has way more records that did well. That's why I said the audience matters. If they play in arena full of 30 year olds and younger that are people who go to strip clubs and party a lot, Meek will win. But in a neutral spot or where the crowd is mixed, Cole will win. Easily.

Wale can't fukk with Cole after the feature run Cole went on. If this was around 2014, then maybe it's closer. But a lot of the songs Wale is featured on, like No Hands, aren't hits because of Wale's verse. Even all of Wale's R&B hits are carried by the R&B hook.

Meek is crushing all his peers in a verzuz. His whole catalog is perfect for a verzuz. Meek is one of those artists that can punch above his weight class in a verzuz.

The Intro, Litty Again, Tupac Back, What's Free, Cold Hearted, Shine, We Ball, Lord Knows, Levels, House Party, Ima Boss, there's way too many classics. Then you got all the songs with Drake, Ross, French, etc.

A lot of that shyt wouldn't resonate in a verzuz at all.

Cole would probably have to pull from his features bag for most of the verzuz.
I disagree, I think people think "club records" do overwhelming well in Verzuz and they don't always. It's been proven. That's why people thought Fab could beat Kiss, Dips could beat the Lox, Nelly could beat Ludacris or thought 2 Chainz had a chance against Ross, and thought Fat Joe could beat Ja Rule, because they had more "club" and "party" records and they all got their ass kicked.
