Ad argument - I side with Ice/Joe. I think Ish is missing that on youtube/pods, creators run an ad AND they have a referral link that the channel gives to viewers that they get a kickback from.

Brilliant Idiots had deals with forhims and shyt and you get the 15% off code like "Idiots". That code most likely was just used to track the customers BI brought to the site and measure kickback payments.

Aba & Preach runs mid roll ads in their actual vids for products and all have a referral/affiliate link in their videos.

it was so easy for labels to get someone noticed when co signs and rapper labels were such a big part of hip hop

Parks is absolutely right, the blog era and then the sound cloud era was the easiest

EDIT: I don’t think First week sales or debut album sales matter anymore but they’re copping pleas for Fivio

They copping big pleas for Fivio, especially with the machine behind him. "It's a debut".........."No big singles". Fivio was just bragging about the marketing on the album.

Both Fivio and Coi had major marketing dollars put behind them. No way was the label expecting those first week numbers

And if the numbers are fake like Ice is claiming then wouldn’t the be the perfect time to fake the numbers?

for someone like Lil baby who was right before The Weeknd, he had to get at least a million

This pretty much means that Coachella is a lot of artist biggest payday of the year

why would they boycott Coachella build something else?

I feel like that was the typical collab tape run

His main issue with them is he feels their music is just a poppy sanitized rehashed versions of classics we’ve already heard. Joe is a fan of both and would rather hear original modern music from both of them as soloist or a group. I don’t have an issue with them but I get where Joe is coming from.
