I always thought Rory would be the one to try to reconcile. I could just tell his energy was different from Mal's who clearly doesn't fukk with joe AT ALL. Interesting dynamic considering this whole fall out started with Rory. I do wonder what Mal's take on this is.

I just wanna know if they got paid or not. That alone will tell you who was wrong in this whole shyt.
I'm willing to bet Rory came to his senses and realized he isn't legally entitled to anything if he wasnt owning equity.

Rory is a white boy social climber. These ppl will always try to keep all connections just in case they need to tap into them one day. I peeped that his energy was different in their initial video. While I feel like Joe is shytty at business and management (and won't pay someone who IS good at these things) Rory can and will be a doormat for whoever gonna get him in the rooms he wants to be in.

Paying attention to the words they used, I believe Joe. He said they got overpaid, they were the highest paid B mics in the entertainment industry, and that everyone got raises AFTER leaving spotify. Parks cosigned all those statements, Mal and Rory never disputed those lines.
Only thing Mal said was some lame shyt like "I didnt feel overpaid" and "You dont overpay somebody that you dont respect". Man fukk yo feelings what the contract say you pose to get paid and did you get paid more than that.
I honestly think Joe didnt want to come off the accounting because he was putting his outside money into the pod to make Mal/Rory whole after he killed the pod deal. Joe bought his own cashapp deal to the pod and that almost covered the money loss from Spotify.
I think Joe means well, he just goes about shyt the wrong way. Like with Ak/Complex. He told the complex nikkas not to sign off on a deal with Ak unless he(Joe) ok'd it because he didnt want the complex ppl taking advantage of Ak. When he couldve just went straight to Ak to give him advice instead. Of course complex execs spinned it and told Ak to keep them at odds.

Exactly. People have to understand the dynamics of Joe and Rory's friendship. Rory started off as a Joe Budden super fan. So ultimately, Joe always had the upperhand in their relationship. Rory always wanted to be friends with Joe.
Mal and Joe's relationship is way different. Mal didn't admire Joe like a super fan. He was just his friend.

lol you got the exact same thoughts on this entire situation as I do.
Rory and Mal weren't doing shyt on the pod for the last 100 episodes they were on, and they were getting paid more than they were during the Spotify contract, despite no new business - which means Joe was bleeding money. They dont do ads or deals, there was really nothing until the Patreon set up. All these guys did was clock in and clock out while Joe was putting his own money on the line and Parks was literally handling everything audio video with Savon.
And like you said, when you're asking to audit a private business, what you're really doing is asking to audit Joe, which translates to: I wanna count your pockets. That shyt is mad offensive if we are all friends and I'm making sure you're eating good too for the last few years.
These guys felt entitled to equity but didn't want to bring anything to the table. Every episode Joe would be begging these guys to contribute more on topics, or would tell Mal to start a show under the network. They didn't have the drive to do any of that shyt until they left Joe, which really shows how much Joe coddled them.
