That's how I feel.Jay was rapping harder on Vol. 3.
"Mike Jordan of rap, outside Jay working (J working)
Now watch how quickly I drop 50"
Is one of the illest bars ever. super layered and effortless. Jay was in a crazy bag in that 97-99 era.

Ehh. I'll concede this tho, "What more can I say" is the greatest rapping performance on either album. That jawn is a masterclass on how to deliver and flow and incorporate bars in the mix with all thatDebatable. Not definite. Lol.
“Grown man, I put hands on youThat's how I feel.

Volume 3 I just have never been able to get all the way in to. It was just way too disjointed production wise and topic wise as a whole. It was just all over the place with high highs and really low lows. I’ve always loved being able to just throw an album on and let it rock and can’t do that with Volume 3 the way I can most of his other albums.Nah, I feel you. I think most people will say Black Album and are probably right from a technical perspective. Meaning the production matured on the Black Album, as did the content. Much more introspective. But over the years, I've stopped caring about general consensus and going with how I feel. And if I had the choice, I'd play Volume 3. The rapping is just better to me, and where the production may lack from a technical aspect, the highs are more enjoyable to listen to, for me.
I still love the Black Album though, and think most people have it over Volume 3. I know I'm in the minority and crazy, and that's fine too lol.
I don't love Vol 3 tho brudda, I'm just saying it's solid and I remember playing it a lot.And also @Pop123. As a Nas fan I don’t see how someone could love Vol.3. But shyt on I Am. I just CANT for the life of me see that. I seen u criticize the fukk out of I Am.
Explained it better than me. The shyt was literally ALL OVER the place. LolVolume 3 I just have never been able to get all the way in to. I liked it better yeah. Jay always gonna rap his ass off, but I quote more Volume 3 bars.U think the rapping is THAT much better tho? Jay was spittin his ass off on both albums. I don’t think he got nothing fukkin wit his verses on Threats and Lucifer tho.
CRAZY. Jay is dumb nice.“Grown man, I put hands on you
I dig a hole in the desert, then build the Sands on you
Lay out blueprint plans on you
We Rat Pack nikkas, let Sam tap dance on you
Then I Sinatra, shot ya, goddamn you
I put the boy in the box like David Blaine
Let the audience watch, it ain't a thang..”
Bruh. THAT shyt right there is amazing.
Definitely understandable.Volume 3 I just have never been able to get all the way in to. It was just way too disjointed production wise and topic wise as a whole. My guy. Outside of Big Things. Nas doesn’t have worse produced or executed songs than S.Carter, Pop4Roc, or Thing That U Do. This right here is a clear example Nas can’t get away with shyt Jay can. I will never accept I Am being trash but Vol 3 being passable. No way. Lol. Vol 3 has worse songs than damn near every song on I Am.I don't love Vol 3 tho brudda, I'm just saying it's solid and I remember playing it a lot.
I Am ass tho. . You know that's my guy so it's never no hating or malice behind it, I just genuinely didn't enjoy that album...from the production to Nas's performance on some of the shyts. There's madd greatness on there tho, don't get me wrong...just a lot of blunders too
Exactly, that’s Black Album. Like I said I don’t know anything messin with Threat or Lucifer on Vol. 3 lyrically. LolCRAZY. Jay is dumb nice.
But there's more trash on I Am tho...not only that, the production and the rapping is just better on Vol 3, imo. Not by much tho. If I Am gets a D+, I'd give Vol 3 a C. Nah, I Am gets a C-...you can't give an album with NYSOM 2 and Nas is Like and Hate me now and Undying Love a DMy guy. Outside of Big Things. I agree, doesn't mean it's it's better lyrically all the way through tho. lol That's two songs.Exactly, that’s Black Album. Like I said I don’t know anything messin with Threat or Lucifer on Vol. 3 lyrically. Lol
