Always felt the same...never understood all the black album love. Vol 3 was solid to me.
I prefer listening to Volume 3 over the Black Album, I'm not going to lie. Even though I disagree with Parks, I think the Black Album is great.

Them nikkas is even trash Jay Z stans. No way in hell could I even see the angle they coming from with that. Vol 3 has worse shyt on it than ever song in Black Album.
Joe and Ice said they're crazy. I love Volume 3, so I'm not mad at his take of it over the Black Album. The top 4-5 songs on Volume 3 (Hova Intro, So Ghetto, Do It Again, Dope Man, and probably Come And Get Me Too), I'll take over any song on the Black Album. But saying it's overrated is wild

I don't think Parks is a Hovenger tho. But if you're a rap fan, it's more than likely you love Hov. But he doesn't think everything Jay does is great.

What More Can I Say, Encore, December 4th, Threats, PSA, Allure, Lucifer >>>>>>>>>>> Vol 3. Even the weaker songs on Black Album are better than the OK songs on Vol 3.

I disagree. I'll take my favorites on volume 3 over all those easily, except maybe PSA.

I agree where the difference comes is there really isn't a drop off in quality on Black Album like Volume 3. Volume 3 has a few low quality songs. Black Album doesn't really have any except Justify My Thug.

Like. Black Album is even sequenced better than Vol. 3. I could even see someone saying the like Vol 3 and don’t think it’s wack. But better than Black Album tho? Damn. Lol

:what: S.Carter, Things That You Do. Pop 4 Roc are all around horrible. Snoopy Track, and Dope Man is cool. So Ghetto, Do It Again, Come and Get Me, Is That Yo bytch, Big Pimpin classic. NYMP, and It’s Hot are good.

So 3 horrible joints? The rest are at least cool? Sounds solid to me. I don't have the track listing in front of me and I hate checking all that extra type shyt with my phone...I just remember playing that album a whole lot. So Ghetto is fire. Come and get me fire. The intro. Was There's been a murder on there or nah? That's fire. Couple other joints I'm forgetting. It's not a fire album...solid tho...liked it way more than the black album

I don’t think there any song on Vol 3 I would take over Threats and Lucifer. Lol. And yea. Black Album is sequenced better. It’s more consistent. And Vol 3 has some of the worst songs Jay ever recorded on it. If we talking about ALBUM as a whole. I just can’t see it at all. Lol

Vol 3 sounds better now than it did then if that makes sense. Black Album was way more consistent. I bumped Vol 3 a lot back then I even tried to force myself to love it cause Jay was on fire at the time. And I had it before literally everyone I knew so I was hype off that. But nah. I just can’t see it over Black Album.

Nah, I feel you. I think most people will say Black Album and are probably right from a technical perspective. Meaning the production matured on the Black Album, as did the content. Much more introspective. But over the years, I've stopped caring about general consensus and going with how I feel. And if I had the choice, I'd play Volume 3. The rapping is just better to me, and where the production may lack from a technical aspect, the highs are more enjoyable to listen to, for me.

I still love the Black Album though, and think most people have it over Volume 3. I know I'm in the minority and crazy, and that's fine too lol.

U think the rapping is THAT much better tho? Jay was spittin his ass off on both albums. I don’t think he got nothing fukkin wit his verses on Threats and Lucifer tho.
