Problem is it takes options away from kids and their parents. It's not a big deal but what about the lactose intolerant kids? Do they not get any protien on Mondays?

:comeon: pretty sure school districts been had provisions/substitutes in place for those kinda situations long before there was every a "meatless Monday"

Yeah they ate meat for protien. Now that the school is replacing meat with cheese on Monday what will they eat?

And this is only an example of one potential problem. Point is when you start dictating stuff to people complications can arise and whats good for one person may not be good for the next.

And there is really no health benefit to replacing meat with mac'n cheese and pizza

Which is why I throw the entire idea that this is for health reasons right in the bushes

breh come on now :snoop:... like I said before, it ain't as if kids weren't already eatin lunches without meat. the article itself even points this out. why weren't yall outraged about this before??? cuz it want designated to a certain day??? :stopitslime: it STILL happens... and you're takin as if they said, "ok, no meat on Mondays so uhhhh... idk :manny: just throw some cheese in and call it a day"-- we're in the 21st century, school districts have dieticians now. all the new shyt they added in had to be approved first. the article points that out as well. I still don't see the problem

you're delusional if you think school districts contacted dieticians when making this decision, and IF they did, that they decided that this was a healthy move.

Do you think most school districts can afford on call dieticians?

The problem is the fact that they're removing meat options for lunch in a community where some of the schools have kids that lunch is their first meal of the day...on monday, when good protiens are unspeakably MORE needed for elementary kids than any other age group.

The problem is, they're replacing chicken and beef with (get this) pizza and macaroni...and saying it will lower diabetes :mindblown: ...because of some 'studies'?

replacing proteins with cheese and breads and dairy and pastas????

????????

FOR ELEMENTARY kids???

:rudy:

?

Nah

That some some hyperliberal bullshyt

:rudy::rudy: Threadstarter clearly has no idea what he's talking about

That's just the point. Before they had options, now they don't. The article says they will be served things like mac'n cheese and pizza. Please tell me how that is beneficial to the kids health? If they were really looking out for their health they would have added some healthy CHOICES because again everybody is different, and what could be good for one student may not be good to the next.

They have it totally wrong we should be reducing our carbohydrate intake not our meat(protein) intake. Humans have been eating meat since we were on this earth, it's all the overeating of complex carbs recently that have caused people to be overweight so much.
