@beejus it's in their best interest to get those homes sold. that way they can collect the tax revenue from the buyer instead of having to pay them themselves.

Oh it makes sense. I just never really thought about going through the city to get property.

How many people have refinanced? I'm thinking about doing it since the rates are so good.

Good advice. My nikka I wish i wasn't so addicted to cars. Thinking of getting a Cayman GTS in a couple years on top of the two cars I already own, Life is short though so I don't want to stack up for later just to enjoy life at 50-60. I try to do a balance of both though. Got the 401K cracking and trying to pay this place off by 40.

when people lose property due to taxes
the city get the property......
the city is sitting on shyt loads of
property that they will sell to buyers
for pennies on the dollar.
most have a great foundation and roofs.
(minor fixer uppers)
get a list from your city and cop a few
peices of property for like 12 hundred each.
most of the time the city will cover the taxes
for a few years.......theyre happy just to get
rid of shyt and see any money.

Are you talking about auctions?

no......go to where ever the city
owns propertys and vacants.
walk in and ask for a listing of property
for sale city wide and they will gladly
give you a list and numbers to lenders if needed.
the second you put a lightbulb in it's worth more.

it's easy man...

tv is way to high homie. but nice house
Thanks for the compliment, its not bad when viewing it especially when sitting in the dining area right behind the couches. We have a lot of company over for Texans games and it makes it much easier for them to view things back there espcially when people get up from the couch to grab something.

Houston
post was empty breh
lol, sorry about that, my pc restarted at the same time I was typing. Windows automatic update, smh.

I was gonna say I did the same as you, but back in 06 when we purchased our "starter" home in Greenspoint. We renting that joint out now and we moved into our new home back in '13 in The Woodlands. It took my wife some convincing, but what I did was find a MPC (master-planned community) looked at available homes, and found the least expensive home on a street where home prices were averaging 325k, which is a lot in Houston. We paid 155k for our home and in almost 3 years the value has nearly doubled due to the neighborhood plus the new ExxonMobil campus that was built out here. Last appraisal in December our home appraised at 285k and I've had several offers but now ain't the time to be buying, its a sellers market in Houston if you ask me.

If I were you I would slang that house asap at the $135k equity you're looking at. Houston is about to go belly the fk up with this huge oil bust we are having right now which will flood the market (its already happening but its not 09 bad just yet). People wont move here in droves much longer if oil stays at where predictions are pointing (another 3-4 years). Im happy there is a bust its just happening at a time that Im not in the market which sucks. You did good buying a small home in a desired neighborhood. I couldnt move 3 times, next house we plan to birth/raise our kids in and spend 30 years at then bounce to a ranch or farm either here or in Puerto Rico.
