After doing some research, I bought a drill. :lupe:

Ive never used one before.

I need to install this shelf in my laundry area and there is really no way to mount it without a drill..

I hope I dont kill myself :snoop:

You guys get a home phone number?

I'm pretty certain we'll end up getting one, but it just seems odd in this day and age...

I recently "cut off" my phone line saved me $30 a month, something interesting I learned in the process is that I can still keep my #, just can't make any outgoing calls (only 911) but I can receive calls just fine at no extra charge .

yeah i have one and a cordless phone system too. it's google voice ($20 to permanently port the number to google voice) and a obihai 200 (paid around $31 on amazon a few years ago) and i pay 10 or $12 a year for e911 service with anveo. so it only cost me $50 up front and $12 a year to maintain a number i've had since i got my first place out of college.

Y'all got appliance insurance?

Thinking of getting it, just wanted y'all's take on it.
i always get it from lowe's. some financial experts believe it's smarter to just put that money you would spend on the warranty in a savings/investment account and pay for repairs that way. i consider myself financially smart, but that's a bit too much for me. i'd rather just pay lowe's that extra and when something happens i call them and they send someone out. has worked just fine for me so far. it seems like at least once a year i have to call them. one year i had to call them like 4 times because everything fukked up one after the other from the sheet metal that makes up the dryer drum tearing. door latch breaking. heat regulator.

I pay $95 a month for HOA and they dont do shyt but complain. Buy a single family house take that Hoa fee and put it towards your mortgage
Not everyone wants the headache of full home ownership and I would agree on that if I didn't need the extra garage space.

HOA fee can be more beneficial than paying 10K to replace a roof or ac unit

I've started saving for a downpayment. What is the best way to save? I read a couple articles that say you should just leave the money in a high yields savings and not invest but I did the math and I would only earn around $3500 in interest over the course of 5 years at 1.9 APY. Some people have said to invest the money or do a CD ladder. What did you guys personally do to save?
