Oh, and based on the preview I thought this would be a weak episode. Nope. Lawrence Fishburne killed it

Was expecting Hannibal to come in the court room likeHannibals black and red suit though
He is somehow psychologically attracted to will, I think he wants to see if Will can actually put all the puzzles in place to outwit him or somehow keep the game going. Can someone help clear up what game Hannibal is playing right now? It seems clear that he wants Will to get off, so why is he doing the new killings in a different way thus leaving open the possibility that it is a copycat and not the same guy?
I'm assuming he just means to cast a 'reasonable doubt' but he doesn't want to make it seem like the real killer is still out there because it may bring heat back upon himself. He then took out the judge simply to create a mistrial since the reasonable doubt thing got destroyed by the prosecution
Am I missing anything else here? I feel like he is doing something else psychologically to Will
Hannibal is facsinated by Will and considers him the only other person that could possibly be on his level, so he enjoys putting him through tests and scenarios to see how Will reacts. In the scene where Will tells him about the gunshot cause of death, Hannibal lays his scenario out plainly for Will: Is he willing to base his defense on what he knows to be a lie in order to save himself? I dont think Hannibal figured the prosecution would point it out during the trial or that the judge would throw it out. When he did, this ruined Hannibal's game, which to him is the ultimate miscarriage of justice. Can someone help clear up what game Hannibal is playing right now? A few pages back I had concern that Will's dialogue was going to get monotonous this season. I know we aren't very deep into the season yet, but based of off what we have seen and the previews of what is to come, I'm glad to say that my concern has been thrown in the bushes. Until April 6, I don't think there is much debate that this is currently the best show playing on TV. Only thing that comes close is Rick and Morty, but it is so wildly different it is really tough to compare. Not sure how this isn't the best show on television right now.

brehs, if they had got a stool sample from Will when they found him with Abigail ear, that might have thrown some doubt in the air.
I almost feel that Hannibal is too smart to be falling for the shyt that Will is pulling right now. But, perhaps he is just so confused by his 'friendship' to Will that it is clouding his rationality. Friendship is almost undoubtedly a completely new thing for Hannibal, any friendships he has had in the past were likely faked. I think that even his admiration for the other serial killers is faked. He may like their work, but he thinks that they are treading on his sacred ground and he has to interject himself into it and get rid of them. Will appears to be the only person in his life that he legitimately admires or considers a friend. Hannibal is a blind man who has gotten his first peek at a sliver of light and is walking towards it, but there is a cliff up ahead and he isn't trusting his cane to lead the way. He wants that light more than anything, even at the risk of self preservation.

I think maybe one beef with this show that doesn't have it in the same league as others is that outside of Will and Hannibal, the supporting cast doesn't really hold our attention
