It being a "cat and mouse" show the supporting cast shouldn't really stand out that much. I mean in time we'll see certain characters views and opinions changed which will affect the progression of the story.

Even beyond this, I don't think the statement you were replying to had a lot of merit anyway. Lawrence Fishburne is holding it down something serious....the dude that runs Will's mental asylum is a fukking prick that I hate already (love to hate)....Alana Bloom is incredibly believable in a role that had potential to be corny....Asia does her thing just fine too. Only supporting cast I think is weak at all is Gillian Michaels, and its really not even her fault I just can't look at her without thinking of Scully

Speaking of casting though....is it too early to say that Mads is a better Hannibal than Anthony Hopkins? It was already neck and neck for me and that courtroom smirk put it over the top. There are 3 Hannibal stages (intelligent psychopath, crazed and viscious killer, cerebral captive). He has nailed the first two perfectly, hopefully we can get to the 3rd one before the show is cancelled :sadcam:. The cerebral captive is where Hopkins shined brightest, I'd like to be able to make a direct comparison.

Mads will never be on Hopkins level.

I aint gonna argue with you because Hopkins' Hannibal is an all-time classic character and I'm not even sure that I believe that Mads is on that level or if I'm just gassed off a string of recent great episodes, but this statement sounds like some "back in my day we walked in blizzards barefoot...." type steeze

Nah, just The Silence of the Lambs is my favourite movie of all-time and his performance in it, in my opinion, the greatest acting of cinema.

Again, I do like the show, but I can't point my finger on what I don't like about it that doesn't put it up there with other great shows, such as the most recent True Detective.

Best way i can put regarding the supporting cast is that they are restricted by the current rules of the game that Will and Hannibal. Will and Hannibal are playing a version of chess that only they know the current rules and with each interaction the rules seem to change, which then leaves little room for the other characters to keep up.

I think they have done a solid job with the supporting cast, Fishburne has been doing his thing as Jack and like mentioned above Alana has been a solid character. The coroners aren't great, but they are giving the Asian chick more to do this season. As much as I enjoyed True Detective, the show was Rust and Marty, the rest of the cast didn't really receive much attention.

One of my favorite parts of this past episode was when Will's lawyer was questioning Freddie.

Lawyer: How many times have you been sued for libel :lupe: ?

Freddie: 6

Lawyer: How many times have you settled?

Freddie: 6

Lawyer: No further questions :win:

They all just gonna get on the stand and lie on Willy Will like that?

I cannot relay how much I am enjoying the ride.

Freddie, yousa lying ass bish. But I still want to plow you out. Over and over. What the hell was with that hat?

Hannibal's kills this episode were very interesting. Especially the bit about how justice is "Blind, Brainless & Hearltess." Very evocative.

It's dope how they've gone away from the killer of the week every episode without it feeling like something is missing or taken away from the formula.

I'm a dialogue fiend so I'm getting my fix every week.

Is Hannibal going to eventually murder the Blonde that was telling Jack to get his act together?

What an engrossing episode. I love the transition of focus from the killer of the week to the various other story lines. This particular killer of the week was captivating to me for some reason. When she was explaining why she did what she did and Jack just looks at her had me dead. I need a gif.

Seeing Will regain his memories and the presentation is top freaking notch. When he walked out of his "cell" and into Hannibal's dining room and having Hannibal talk to him as well is great. The psychology of it all is amazing. Will going in and out of consciousness and the line about "You look out there. And I'll look in here." is so clean to me.

Will coercing the Warden to stonewall Hannibal is smart too. I know Will told him not to talk and the look on Hannibal's face when he told him about his thoughts was priceless.

I really feel for Beverly. Sorry that I just learned her name. As soon as she was in the morgue with Hannibal, I instantly thought "Why didn't Will warn her earlier not to talk to Lecter?". Then I thought, "Why didn't she know not to in the first place?". That ending scene was magnificent. It's wild to see her walking into her tomb. When Hannibal hit those lights and those gunshots went off. Wow.

The scene with Jack's wife was some powerful stuff. I was thoroughly moved. Then he brought he back to life. I was sure he was hitting her with some preservatives to keep that meat fresh but I knew that wasn't it. That slap and the resounding pain all over her body was great acting.

I really rock with this show. They know how to keep in interesting and I truly appreciate it.
