How is it going?I'm transitioning my hair. So far so good. I hope I have the patience for when it gets bad
I don't have much growth. I've been using a flat iron when I wash my hair but the next time I'm gonna do a braid out. Most people seem to have all of these reason to go natural...like their hair being damaged. I don't. My hair was healthy when I had a relaxer....How is it going?
Yeah I didn't have a reason to go natural, I just did. I started with braids. I think I did those for 3 months then I started twisting my own hair. I also didn't big chop the first time and my hair was about shoulder length. Then I cut my hair all off (a Cesar) maybe 2 years ago now and I'm currently growing it out. I have an unkempt mini fro that I love most days of the week and depending on the product that I use. I really need to go to the barbershop but the weather has been ass and I miss the walk in days. I think by summer I should have a good enough length that I can start styling it more.I don't have much growth. My hair is always straight. I get complement but it's so boring. I might occasionally curl it with a flat iron but I want a natural curl in my hair when I'm done transitioning. I don't know what my natural hair texture is because I got a relaxer at a young age. I'm not really a fan of Afros unless they are either loose curls or really kinky curls. It's been going on 9 mos transitioning and I don't have nearly as much hair growth as I thought I would.Yeah I didn't have a reason to go natural, I just did. I started with braids. How do you normally style your hair?

I know everyone keeps telling me not to do the flat iron. I tried Bantu knots recently. They turned out bad because I didn't have any leave in conditioner at the time. You should stop flat ironing it because you'll never see your natural curl pattern if you don't. Go with rods/flexy rods if you like curly styles. Rods are cool but they can look wack when the style is fresh and better as it starts to fall. You should really try 30 days with no heat and make sure you get your ends trimmed.
