You can literally play as any character model whether they're a story character or just a random pedestrian. Role playing potential is damn near endless.
I was just playing as a Balla in South LS tearing shyt up. You can turn on invincibility and disable wanted levels as well and just go on crazy rampages. Kinda like the old GTA's. In GTA V the rampages never last longer than 5 minutes because the police were too aggressive.
