I'm skipping all banners until Hu Tao's so I can go for her C1 and Staff of Homa. She's one of my favorite characters and overall one of the best DPS in the game. She's a monster overall.
this is an updated tier ranking by Usagi. prominent CN genshin creator:
1st column: DPS
2nd column: Sub DPS
3rd column: Support/Utility
Tiers go from 0 to 4 with 0 being the best
disclaimer - this is just general guidance of/where characters stand for different roles. you should always play and go for the characters you enjoy
C1 Ganyu - C1 Hu Tao - C0 Ayaka are Tier - 0 for DPS meaning they are the top dogs. Everyone without Hu Tao should be grabbing her.
After Hu Tao I think I'm going to start saving until Kazuha re-run, unless they drop a new character which is a monster or that I like aesthetically and playstyle wise.
That's a solid list but C0 Eula should be tier 0 for DPS too.
I don't have Ayaka, never had any interest in her. Her DPS is that good?

I still don't have her properly built but her DPS is nuts especially with Xingqiu for perma freeze. Her burst does a fukk ton of damage too, once I get her crit rate up it's a wrap.
Oh and a side note, I finally finished my artifacts on Kazuha. Got 980 EM on him now.

If you say she's great DPS I believe you but it's bizarre that Eula isn't tier 0 on that list, but Ayaka is, when I can pull 620k damage out of my ass with C0 Eula.
I've heard Ayaka is good, but I didn't know she was that good.

Nah she's not as good as Eula unless I'm missing something, Eula has the highest DPS in the game. I was reading a list on reddit and she has the record for the highest by a quite a bit. I think 6 million damage or some shyt.

damage peaks for bursts doesn't necessarily translate into the foodchain order.
Ayaka has a lot going on for her in her kit. She is part of "Morgana team" which regularly records the best speedrun times in abyss. The team used to be "Ganyu - Mona - Diona - Venti" but a lot of players have subbed Ganyu for Ayaka cause of ease of use and uptime (not having to rely on bow charged shots). Others subbed Diona out of the team and made Ayaka main DPS and Ganyu sub-dps.
She applies cryo simply by dodging (enabling melt reactions). Also, just by dodging her normal attacks become cryo attacks, and if you dodge close to an enemy you gain 18% cryo dmg bonus and restores 10 stamina. after using her skill you gain 30% damage to normal and charged attacks.
her burst damage is also one of the highest, it doesn't peak like Eula's but she's no slouch:
Ayaka's ease of uptime for cryo reactions and freeze teams pushes her above a lot of characters.
Also, against enemies with huge health pools, Ayaka keeps up with Ganyu and actually does better than her:

I've seen a lot of people arguing that Ayaka is the best Inazuma character thus far, especially because she doesn't need constellations to put in work. Baal is my favorite character but a lot of her potential is locked behind her C2

I'd say Kazuha is but Raiden and Ayaka are also great choices. I only have Raiden at C0 and she's my boss killer. Pop Bennett and Kazuha's bursts, then hers and everything is dead lol. But yeah she's way better at C2.

Yeah, that and the bale thunder had me not touching these most recent islands for the longest. Ran through the first one last week. Got to Watatsumi island and saw all the puzzles and was like

Kazuha is amazing, but that statement is usually made in discussion to characters that came out after 2.0
Kazuha hails from Inazuma but he dropped with the archipelagos, long before we actually had access to Inazuma. I should've worded that better.
After grabbing Hu Tao C1 and Homa. I'll get into my saving shyt until Kazuha comes back around. He's a must have. Conversely, C2 Raiden is an investment I'm very happy with. She's a beast.
