George gotta hold that L on his own. If he would have stuck to strategy, he'd be potentially 4th.
He already got work a couple seasons back. Guess it isn't holding. Lewis' follicle resurgence has been legendarySeb need to get in contact with Lewis' hair guy to handle that parking lot he's expanding up there

Across the span of his career, I'd say he is.I though Alonso was supposed to be some racing genius.
It's always like this with his "competitive" teammates. Once they realize they can't consistenly match his pace, they resort to tactics.Teammate battles getting spicy across the grid.
Lewis has been there many, many times before though.
Which is fine. I'd question a driver's competitiveness if they just gave up points to the their teammate if their position isn't contractually obligated. It's always like this with his "competitive" teammates. Once they realize they can't consistenly match his pace, they resort to tactics.
They were on very different strategies. GR was on a suboptimal strategy that he asked for. And then when the team told him to move over he spent even more time trying to rationalize not doing it. All the while Lewis is losing time in his dirty air. McLaren made thr same switch for the same reason earlier in the race with no issue. GR is just putting a target on his back. Half a decade in, its clear to see he's not that guy. Not that I think he should have a low self image.Which is fine. Obviously, there's some balance for "what's best for the team" but these guys for the most part, are looking to gain as many point as possible for themselves first.
Piastri is a rookie. He's going to do whatever the team tells him to do right now. No comparison. They were on very different strategies. GR was on a suboptimal strategy that he asked for. George just needs to work on improving race pace and stop trying to get one over on Lewis and the strategy. You don't always gotta do something different, and I get the drive to beat Lewis, but they brought him in to be the future so he doesn't have to prove anything to Mercedes - at least not as desperately as he's been trying the past 2 races. If he can't reel himself in now, he'll fold like origami in a title fight against Lewis or Verstappen.George Russell's 'future of Mercedes' promise is slipping through his fingers

Interesting article
He's been mistake prone since Williams. And it's not just him. Maybe it's a symptom of all the sim racing they do as kids. They all lack finesse. Extremely quick over one lap, but lacking in the finer points of racing. You see this most prominently with Max. You can tell he jumped early from open wheel spec to F1. His wheel to wheel is highly reminiscent of what we see in Karting. There isn't always a race ending collision. But there's a lot of rubbing.George just needs to work on improving race pace and stop trying to get one over on Lewis and the strategy.
