Idk if this is still an option for him. He's already made his Senior team appearance for Italy so he may not be able to switch. I think the game was in the UEFA Nations league so that counts as a competitive match to FIFA and he'd be "cap-tied".
It's not like Kondogbia who only played for France at the friendly level so he was able to switch to the CAR (Central African Republic).

He did move from Brazil to Italy but I don't know if he made a full-senior game at the competitive level for Brazil. Although I could be wrong.
