Can always switch formations
Playing with an attacking midfielder really weakens the midfield. You're basically playing 4 forwards, you see the magic it worked for Zidane? Breh just dropped James, added a holding midfielder, now he's in the GOAT conversation
Different skillset required to play in that role. James playing that far from goal does not help and dropping him from the lineup worked very well compared to Rafa shoehorning him and Isco plus Benzema,Bale and Ronaldo in the lineup. Zidane played in a similar system after Makelele was sold and Beckham was inserted in the lineup which led them to 3 seasons without a title. Only player you can replace Verratti with is another number 6 not a 10. Isco could be better suited for that role given how he has played in roles that require him to do some defending. James is more like an Ozil type 10 than other players like Thiago ,Kroos and Modric who have played as number 10s but clearly were suited to a role where they dictated the pace of the game. That has more to do with him having some of the greatest players of all time. Plus its Ligue 1 we are talking about, you can adjust for CL.
extra trash, it's why I don't watch most football in English commentary, especially from FS1The spanish-accent commentator on FS1 sound like a fukking Mexican c00n smh
